I hired Timbercore designs *** ****** to build my deck. He barely started it, what he did start was horrible work. And he stole over $35k in money from me And didn’t buy the materials or deliver them as he said he would. He’s a piece of shit and hope he dies.

Timbercore Designs never filed a building permit or obtain a building permit for my deck. I received a letter today in regards to this. The building inspector is now going to visit my home and says that there are problems with the build. Timbercore will not return my calls or emails. I have become frustrated and I am being painted into a corner.

I now have had a structural engineer address the deck build by *** ****** *** ********** *******. There are multiple issues and the cost was north of 600 dollars to have an engineer come out. There are repairs that have to be made which will cost more time and money to pass inspection… not to mention the cost of the permit. I have yet to hear anything from *** about these issues

We went under contract with TimberCore in June of 2022 to build us a new deck. At the signing of the contract, 100% of the materials fee were due so that he could order all the materials. He started work on Aug 1, 2022, and at this time required half of the labor costs to be paid, which we did. He came back 2 weeks later to start the project that was estimated to take 4 weeks (according to his contract). During the process we were pointing out errors that needed to be fixed. (The deck isn't level, the waterproofing system isn't leak proof, the pole that is holding the deck up is warping). He agreed, but never fixed them. He continually told us that the decking boards were backordered. We called the main corporation to only find out that was false information. We asked him to order the materials from a different distributor (******) because they were attainable in about 2 weeks. He said he did, but we called and an order was never placed. He then stopped completely communicating with us by phone/text/email. We don't have the remaining materials to complete our project and are out approximately $****** due to his negligence. Now we are in a position to find a new contractor that will fix his mistakes.

    Business Response

    Mr. *********,

I am deeply sorry for the miscommunication and the delays in work. I have every intention of finishing the project. Due to the situation with my son becoming much worse, I stopped working altogether. I hadn't responded because to be honest I am so overwhelmed with everything. I am working with my original subcontractor to finish my projects, which they will be finishing yours. Keeping everyone up to date became more and more difficult because although I knew the gravity of my situation at home, I didn't feel that continuing to explain how bad it kept getting was helpful, and that updates without a plan just came off as excuses.

I have never been in this situation and am always looking to fix anything that is wrong. I am very sorry for the time this has taken and as stated before, I was going to make it right on the back end with the final bill. Closing my doors temporarily has had extreme consequences on all fronts. Please give me a chance to remedy this, I am not one to quit, and also do care about my clients. I am sorry you and your family feel the effects of problems in my personal life.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The quality of work of what was already finished is not good, and much of it will need to be replaced. The deck is not level, a new support post or two will be required, the catwalk is not structurally sound, the ceiling is wavy, the connection of the rain collection system into the downspout does not work, and the rain collection system still leaks. The work of TimberCore is questionable - there is no way we are going to trust one of his subcontractors. We have already talked to other contractors to fix and finish the project. TimberCore needs to reimburse us for materials not supplied and work that needs to be fixed.
