Predatory towing company that steals personal belongings out of your car that they had for under 24 hours. Many parking lots, apartments, etc without correct signage, only 1 sign or missing. Website says they take cards, then demand cash only. Guarantee you they are playing games with taxes.

This is a calculated scheme designed to exploit innocent people. Lighthouse Towing and its accomplices have set a trap to catch you off guard and extract every last dollar out of your pockets. If you enter the Natural Grocer’s parking lot from 23rd Street, you'll see clear, visible signs informing you that parking is reserved for customers only. “Violators will be towed at their own expense.” But if you come through Proxi’s lot, there are no such signs, no warnings to speak of. As you navigate Proxi’s inadequate parking, you eventually make a left turn into the adjacent Natural Grocers lot, where you see nothing to suggest that parking here will subject you to the predatory practices of Lighthouse Towing. And that’s precisely the plan. The absence of signs here isn’t an oversight—it’s a deliberate, calculated failure to inform you. No warnings are placed along this route, and the individual parking spaces remain entirely unmarked, devoid of warnings. You park your car, unaware of the trap you’ve just entered. You’ve violated no posted rules because there are none. Natural Grocers could have easily posted warning signs at this entrance, but they didn’t. Proxi could have placed signs on their property to protect visitors. They, too, remain silent. Their security guard could warn people not to park in that area. But everyone is complicit—allowing this predatory scheme to continue, reaping the benefits of unsuspecting drivers’ misfortune. Do Proxi and Natural Grocers share in the profits from Lighthouse Towing’s ruthless tactics? After your vehicle is towed, you're presented with an outrageous ransom: $275, cash only. No one carries that much cash, yet they hold your car hostage until you somehow gather the funds. It’s exploitation, plain and simple. This is a conspiracy of silence. A parking lot designed to deceive, warnings intentionally hidden from view, and a towing company poised to profit at every turn. It's immoral and it's time to hold them accountable.

I will be calling Lawrence PD and the DA tomorrow because 100 percent this is predatory towing, I will be calling this business tomorrow as well. You should be ashamed to leave females without their vehicle at 11.30 at night who are also KU students and whose parents pay taxes - after not seeing the no parking and being gone for 10 minutes. How many spotters do you have in that parking lot? Shame on you. This was in the Natural Grocers parking lot.

I'm sorry you didn't see the no parking signs in the parking lot. We have been contacted by natural Grocers to remove cars from their lot. Please understand we are only doing our job.

This is a predatory towing company. They sit in parking lots, waiting for someone to park in a parking spot that does NOT have signs saying it is illegal or unauthorized to park in the spots, then go and tow the cars. Lawrence DOES have statues that indicate there must be signage, to alert patrons that they are not able to park in certain sports on private property. Not only that, they require CASH instead of allowing cards. They they pocket the money. This is wrong!!!

Lighthouse Towing and Recovery employees are unprofessional and rude. They are confrontational and disrespectful to their customers. They hang up on customers and treat them poorly. They only except cash, which is a questionable practice. They also prey on the college students and the KU area. They towed my car and the charge to recover my vehicle was $275 the next day. Please do not business this with company.
