In September 2024, I hired Patriot Coatings LLC to complete work at my private residence. Specifically, I paid them to install a garage floor coating (polyurea basecoat, flake, and polyaspartic top coat). The job was to cost $3,200 total and I paid $1,600 up front to ***** *******, who is the GM of the Tampa Bay location for Patriot Coatings. I had also spoken with ***** ******, who is the CEO of the company based out of Lenexa, KS.

The initial job began on 09/30/24. The workmanship was very poor and the floor was not installed correctly. Many areas across the floor did not have the top coat, so the flakes were loose and peeling up. The bare garage floor could also be seen in multiple areas. The installer (*******) had also spilt chemicals on my driveway causing permanent staining.

Immediately after inspecting the work, I began communicating with *****. He agreed to have the work repaired/done correctly, but kept putting me off for about two months. He would go days and weeks without returning my phone calls and text messages. On 12/03/24, I called ***** and advised him of the issues. He told me the company fired ******* for all the poor jobs he had completed.

Finally on 12/06/24, another employee (*****) came out and tried to repair the issues from the initial install. However, the job was still not completed as there were bare areas and other damage still readily apparent. ***** came back on 12/14/24, but still could not fix the floor. The floor remains damaged and the top coat has bubbled up in several areas, looking horrible.

***** and ***** have stopped returning all calls or text messages and have seemingly blocked my number with no communication to me. The website now has the Tampa location (run by *****) removed and Google states that portion of the business is "permanently closed."

It seems they took my deposit money of $1,600, did a very poor job, could not fix it, and are now refusing to help further after over 3 months. They scammed me out of money.

    Business Response

There were unforeseen challenges with this install and the customer is unwilling to work towards fixing the issues any longer. We spoke with him on 1/4/25 and are in agreement that a refund will be issued.

Refund has been processed and will be mailed Monday, Jan 20th, 2025

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I have still not received a refund check from Patriot Coatings. It’s been 23 days since the CEO ***** ****** stated he would provide a refund. However, I have not received it and the business has still not responded to any of my communication or follow up requests via email and phone.

The last update through this process had the business indicating they would mail the check on Jan 20th, but it does not seem as though they have, since the check would be here by now.

My garage floor is still in poor shape and I need the refund money to have it properly corrected.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ****
