  This is the worst moving company I’ve ever encountered and I’ve moved 24 times all over the country. Their estimate does not include several hidden charges that will more than double your bill. I originally hired them for 6.5 hours to pack, load, move, and unload my house and that estimate was $1500 including materials, packing, fuel, stops, etc. I ended up only needing them to spend 4 hours moving my property into a truck sitting in my driveway. They charged me $3k for less time, not using their truck or equipment, and not driving anywhere. They will charge you for materials you don’t use. They are incredibly disrespectful and don’t listen to your needs or requests. Take screenshots of your original estimate because they will change the price and make up reasons as they go along. This company was great 20 years ago when run by Mike Hammer Sr but now it’s a complete scam and they take advantage of people. The only thing they care about is making money and moving on to rip off the next person. They will damage your belongings. They won’t listen to you. They will argue with you and make up rules as they go along. They will disrespect you as a person and even being a return customer, they had zero respect. They discriminate against disabled people. It seems like the movers are the ones at fault but it’s actually Michael double booking movers and making customers pay for his inability to properly schedule his staff which makes his movers look bad. He’s a bad guy who only cares about making money. There are a lot of moving companies out there. Dont use this one.

  Hi Natale, we initially quote you for moving from A to B WITHOUT packing services. That was a quote of $2,100 for a full day with 3 men. You were going to have all of the packing done prior to move. You then got sick and had to delay your move by 30 days. You called to reschedule and said you would be back in town the afternoon before your scheduled moving date. You also then requested packing services and because you weren't going to be in town until the day before your move, we had to send a 4th man to help pack and load on the same day in order to get the job done in a timely manner. Your initial quote was for a move only, and this turned into a pack and loading a 27 foot storage container. The initial estimate was for $2,100(moving only) and the final invoice (packing and loading) was for $2,256 which included all of the packing materials used. We are sorry you feel the way you do about our business however we were simply trying to help you and that is just what we did. Please call the office with any further concerns.

  Bait and switch all day long with these guys. Was quoted $800 for the move then when he looked at my new address the price magically jumped to $1200. I stupidly agreed assuming that it would cover everything I needed moved. I decided to leave my very large sectional and dining set. So the movers said they had extra room for some boxes. Never mentioning that it might cost more money at the end. They took a 20 minutes lunch break between houses. I paid for 4.5 hours of moving for 3 movers. They started moving at 11:00 a.m. and finished at 5:30 p.m. So with the break they took which I was not supposed to be charged for, I exceeded the allotted time by 2 hours which cost me an extra $566.07. The movers themselves were nice young men but they did damage the floor in my old house and my new house. They also broke my washing machine. All I asked the owner/company to do was reimburse me the $100 I spent to get my washing machine fixed after showing him proof of the damage, which he quickly declined. I had already paid a $100 deposit and made out a cashier's check for $1200 but at the end of the move, I was told that the total for the move was $1,766.07! I hired a moving company because they are supposed to be insured. But this company won't use the insurance for anything they break or damage so beware!

  We made two local moves one week apart and were entirely satisfied with both. The two crews worked diligently and without complaint despite the hottest weather of the year. They were well trained packers, loaders, and movers. We experienced excellent communication and efficiency throughout the process. The crews were careful and conscientious with our belongings, and they accommodated our needs as seniors. We were very satisfied with Mike Hammer's local moving company and would use them again.   This company engages in bait-and-switch techniques and doesn't stand behind their word. We were bid $5,200.00 for our move and were presented with a final bill of over $8,300.00 - roughly a 60% upcharge/surprise. ****** is blaming this on the fact that the move had to be done in one day, and not two, which they were fully aware of when they provided our bid. I asked ********************* prior to accepting their bid if he felt confident that their bid would cover us, and he told me he felt it would. Boy was he wrong. Foolishly, we paid the bill and **** has not called me back after the move, as he said he would, to make an adjustment to the massive overcharge. They broke items, lost items and haven't stood behind any of these issues. As you read the responses they give to their paying customers in their detracting ****** reviews, they are confrontational, and show no ability to listen to, or deal fairly with people that they have taken advantage of, like us. This tells you all you need to know about how they do business.

  Hi ****, we are sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with the final price of the move. We told you that the move needed to be split up into 2 days in order to be both time and cost efficient. You were unable to do the move in 2 days so we advised that it was going to be a long day with 3 trucks and 7 men. We advised in the estimate notes that this move could take up to 10 hours to complete in one day. Our movers finished the job within 11 hours. With that being said, we were not off by 50% on our estimate. The absolute best case scenario was 8-9 hours, however would be a stretch in the summer heat. Had we been able to split this move into 2 days it would have been a more efficient move but your closing dates did not allow that to be a possibility. We worked as hard as possible and did our best to satisfy you. Our men worked fast but could only move so fast to avoid damage to the house or property. To be very clear - We estimated **** hours and it took 11 hours. We estimated $6750 and ended up being $8300 which brings the estimated costs off by 19%. Again, we discussed that doing this whole move in 1 day would make for a very long day. No upcharges or hidden fees - just hours on the clock. The item damaged was an outdoor birdbath. In the estimate notes it is very clear that outdoor statuary is moved with zero liability due to the weathering and ease of damage.

  The move was easy to set up and I could get answers to questions prior to the move. Day of move was extremely hot and humid, but the crew did their job without complaint and very professionally.
