This is one of the most shady companies I have ever dealt with. We started service with them in 2021. We have never seen anyone out to our property from the beginning. During the first and second treatments supposedly given, a receipt was left at our front door. After that no receipts were given. Despite my suspicion that we had been taken by this company for a service that was not provided, we continued our contract with Nomo. In about April of 2022, things began to get interesting. We requested to be at our home when Nomo came to work on our house. A technician would make an appointment with us and the day before they were to come out treat the house they would call telling us that they would have to reschedule. This went on for months until finally we got fed up and called tell them that their service would no longer be required. Instead of being a reputable business and just ending the contract, we were told that we owed $129 and that because we didn’t give them a 30 day notice that we would be required to pay for service that was not provided. At that point, I did a chargeback with the credit card company and thought that things would be solved. THEY WEREN’T! We just received a call telling us that we owed $189 or we would be sent to collections. I paid them their $189 but feel that they extorted this money from us. Obviously, I would prefer to have this money back because I feel that they weren’t entitled to it. In cases like this, it is always better just to pay them rather than have a collection agency ruin our credit. But I will say this that I do not want to deal with this obnoxious company No Mo! I would also recommend that anyone considering pest control to go with a well known company instead of a sleezy unknown company like this.Business Response

We are always a quick phone call away. We have gps records on our tracker in the service app We use as well as the gps with video on our company vehicles. We feel confident the service was completed. If the customer ever wanted, we would be more than happy to come back at no additional cost to ensure customer satisfaction.

My husband and I are dual military and have been deployed in the middle East since October 2021 and just returned this past week. We made a one-year agreement with NoMo Pest Solutions of Lenexa the end of May 2021 for pest control servicing. We understood they would come and service the outside of our home while we were away overseas. We are finally home on U.S. soil and selling our house and moving. We just received an email this morning (27 September) from NoMo that service will be provided tomorrow (28 September). Because we are moving we did not want or need this service so we called to cancel. NoMo Pest Solutions informed us that regardless of wither they complete the service tomorrow or not, we will still be charged the full service fee. We spoke to the office manager, ******, who stated that we did not provide a 30 day notice of cancelation so there would indeed be a full service fee of $140. We explained our situation that we had no way of contacting them 30 days prior to this service because we were both deployed out of the country, but the manager would not agree to cancel our service. She did agree to discount that service to $99 but stated that its our fault for not contacting them 30 days prior and that she shows we opened the reminder email. (The email was sent at 9:25 AM on 27 September, 2022). The office manager informed us that the owner does not take phone calls. They also refused to reschedule the service to 35 days out so we could cancel within a 30 day window. Because NoMo refused to lift the service charge we ultimately were bullied into agreeing to accepting the service for tomorrow so that we would at least get a product that we are being forced to pay for. Special circumstances like these are covered under the Service Members Civil Relief Act but certainly would cost a great deal to litigate. I would like the BBB to please take action to get a refund for this service and continue to help keeping businesses from preying on service members.Business Response

We do require a 30 day notice for all. We don't require a phone call for the 30 day notice, we do accept text messages or email as part of that. We need to be fair to all of our customers as well as our employees who are looking to earn the work and pay they are looking for. To have the consistent work they deserve, we have policies like the 30 day notice which helps us be consistent with them. Please reach out with any further questions.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: As we explained over the phone with the office manager, ******, we didn’t or have access to phone services, email, text, internet or otherwise to cancel this service within 30 days while we were overseas serving our country. Failure to be flexible or even attempt to work with us with our special circumstance is unreasonable, unkind and illegal under the Service Member Civil Relief Act. The contract we made with NoMo expired in May 2021. I don’t understand how a company can expect us to have access and amenities to communicate about a home service when we are literally roasting in a tent in Iraq.

We did the full job and the customer received the quality work. We deserve to be paid for the work we performed. We understand that the military can move individuals and we gave a huge discount for the customer to receive services. Part of receiving the discount is for the customer to complete the agreement. The service was part of the agreement. The discount per the agreement would be required to be paid back and doesn't violate that act the customer mentioned.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: We felt bullied into a position to either pay for a service or to pay and not get a service so obviously we opted for the service to be completed so we were not paying for nothing. The “huge discount” was $41 off and it was not granted as a courtesy military discount, we asked for the discount to account for the fact that the inside of our home had not been serviced in over a year, because we were deployed. This discount was granted ungraciously after multiple phone calls pleading with you to understand our situation of being unable to contact you 30 days prior to cancel. The Service Member Relief Act covers deployed service members to be free of contractual constraints that were entered into prior to deployment and would certainly cover us for this period and situation. I am still requesting a refund of $99 for the final service we did not want, expect or need and had requested to be cancelled.Regards,

Nomo has billed my for 4 months, during this time there has been no reduction of insects on my property. There have been cancelled service appointments, failure to communicate, excuses made about rescheduling, billing errors, and inappropriate conduct by employees. Their treatment is either ineffective or they don’t provide the services promised. Upon cancellation they insisted on billing a $250 dollar cancellation fee, despite having upheld no other part of the contract on their end. This business is a scam.Business Response

7/27/2022 Amount charged: $99 I specifically told nomo that i no longer wanted their service several times. They charged me several times and never sent a technician out to spray. The technicians stole property from my home. They never sent a technician out in 7/27/2022 and charged me for service that i had ask them to cancel numerous timesBusiness Response

Can you give us a quick call about this? We did the work on 7/27 according to the signed service agreement. We have gps records of this.
We do require a 30 day written notice of cancellation. We mentioned this and didn't hear back until after we performed the service. We offered and even scheduled a free reservice. Before the reservice could happen, the customer refused.
We are always wanting to make anything right. If there is any part of the service you wish was done differently, we can come back free of charge. We want to give our best work.
Thank youInitial Complaint

6-1-22, I signed a contract with NoMo Pest Solutions to treat my home inside & out quarterly. I received a $230 discount, paying $49.00. Contract states $230 owed if cancelled within 1 year. I was told treatment would include: inside spraying, outside spraying on lower & upper sections of home and yard "from street to back fence line" with granules for grubs & other insects. 6-5-22, technician arrived. He sprayed inside home, missing several key areas (under the stairs), requiring a door to be opened. I stopped him to spray there. I was getting ready to leave when he sprayed outside. I noticed bottoms of my windows were wet, so he had completed that part. However, upper windows were never wet, so he did not treat there. I witnessed him spraying yard with same sprayer he had used inside. As I left, he was leaving. When I arrived home, I checked yard and there were no granules. Prior to treatment, I had noticed ants around fireplace. Two days after treatment, ants were still there. 7-5-22, I sent letter stating my displeasure with service & requested cancellation of contract. I requested a discount of the $230 since I did not receive the full treatment discussed when plan was sold to me. 7-11-22, I received email of upcoming treatment on 7-13-22 with no time stated. I cancelled appointment 7-18-22, another email of treatment. I again cancelled. 7-27-22, I called. They received my letter so I asked for a manager to review. In 30 minutes, I received a text that since tech completed initial service, there would be no discount. I replied I disagree-the initial service was NOT complete. In another 30 minutes I was charged $230. I am requesting a refund of $140, half of the cost of initial treatment ($49 paid on 6-5, $230 paid on 7-27). I was supposed to receive 4 things (inside, outside upper and lower, granules in yard). I received inside and outside lower, but not outside upper and granules. This company provides poor service & has terrible customer serviceBusiness Response

Please reach out to the office. We can make this right by coming back. The granular is about the size of salt and goes in the grass. They are not large likenyounwould see in lawn treatments. We are confident the service was completed in full.
If there is anything that the customer feels was missed We are more than happy to send someone back and reservice anything that is desired.
Please give us a call and we can make that happen.

I sold my house and a couple of days before selling it, my wife let me know that we needed to cancel the pest control. I called Nomo at their phone number listed, *** ********, but no one answered. I left a message letting them know that I wanted to cancel and left all my information on the voicemail. I then sold the house and moved out of state. A month later, I got an email stating that they would be coming to the home in a couple of days to do service. I sent them an email, stating that I have already cancelled, I don't own the home anymore, and that they need to cancel. I was emailed back stating that they needed 30 days to cancel the service. I sent an email back explaining that I have already cancelled via VM since no one answered. I am waiting to hear back from them but this service is very unprofessional.Business Response

We mentioned we needed time to look into this. We record all of our phone calls and all messages are saved. We just wanted to look this over first. Thank you
We do require a 30 day notice and if the message was left before we are fair and would gladly count that. Thank you

Nomo lied about the services that were offered on the invoice and charged full price. I was in the backyard the entire time of their supposed treatment and I didn’t see them once. I was charged full price. No granules or evidence of treatment outside of the front door area. The tech claimed there were dogs present in the yard, but they were not, in fact they were inside and barking at him. The tech is supposed to call ahead of time so I could ask them to do interior (you have to catch them and make them do it) but they did not call. They charged me the full $80 and refused a refund, only a retreatment. We’ve been using them for a few years now and we still have ants.Business Response

We are here to treat any issues you may have. We are ant experts. There has been a high uptick in rain as of late that stirs ant colonys up. I'm not sure why we weren't able to cross paths that day our 2 forms of gps trackers show we were there at the time of the service.
We are happy to come back free of charge to ensure you are fully taken care of.
Please give us a call.
