I do not advise using Purple Wave Auction to purchase equipment. I have purchased many items on other online auctions in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Colorado with no issues from video quality to item pickup. Not the case with Purple Wave. The video of the truck I was looking at was a 34 second video of a running engine. Looking back, I am not sure it was even an engine in the truck I was looking at. I contacted the seller and had a lengthy conversation with him about the truck. He stated that it was running and in road worthy condition, as I would need to drive it eight hours back home, though he was not present at the time Purple Wave took the video. I bid accordingly. I followed through with my end of the deal. I paid for it in a timely manner and drove there to pick it up before the deadline. Truck would not start, put three new batteries in it, got it started after 4 hours of working on it, the truck then died 1 hour down the road. Had to get it towed to a truck stop and called someone to freight it the remaining seven hours back home. After and additional input of around $4,000, Purple Wave would not help with the additional expense because I got the vehicle running and drove the vehicle off the lot.
I strongly advise using other on line auctions such as Big Iron or Auction time as they have much more detailed videos and are, in general, better to work with than Purple Wave.

My husband often bids on items from the purple wave auction, they do not abide by the rules they put out there. Numerous times the auctions were supposed to close at a certain time when he was clearly the winning bidder than they will extend it saying someone else bid but you can see when you are logged in if anyone else has bid and both times, my husband has lost out because they lie and say somebody else must have bid. When he clearly can see their were no others bidders it shows him the last time someone bid and they extended the auction over an hour. Very Very unethical in their practices and then when you call they don't care to listen to what you have to say. There should be laws as to these online auctions be monitored for fraud, plenty of it going on here at Purple Wave Auction.

We advertise our auctions to begin closing at a certain time. Our auctions begin to close at 10:00 A.M (unless posted otherwise). The size of the auction (number of items being sold) will determine the number of items we close per minute. In our 8/30 Vehicles and Equipment sale, we sold 499 items and closed 2 items per minute (advertised in our auction details). The item in question was our 278th item in sale order. It would have been scheduled to close at approximately 12:17PM. As advertised, all of our auctions have a automatic 5 minute extension if bids are placed within the last 5 minutes of the closing time. Our winning bidder placed a series of bids near the close of the item (12:14, 12:15 and lastly 12:18). The item closed at 12:23 to the highest bidder. Had no bids been placed after 12:12, the item would have closed at 12:17 as scheduled.

PW should do better in making sure that their bidders are protected by these con artists throwing junk Not Road Worthy vehicles on their site. These people know these items are high dollar purchases and they don’t want to refund these people money back. It’s sad to think that PW are rolling with these con artists selling junk and misleading people to get top dollars for none productive items.
We spent $16,000 for a truck that can’t be put on Tx highways or interstates because it has 3 major oil leaks and busted gasket. This Not Road Worthy truck can’t go over 47mph and Tx highways and interstates are 70/75mph speed limits.
The seller knew they were fraudulently misleading bidders otherwise No One would not have bid on that junk and definitely would not get $16,000 for it.
The seller in Collinsville OK refused to give us back our money for this Not Road Worthy junk truck.
It never stated nor was noted that the truck had all these issues and can’t be driven on any road other than farm roads other than the roads around Collinsville Ok because they are small country towns with speed limits of 35mph or 45mph. These con artists should be sued because they are nothing but con artists lying to steal people money. It should have been noted that this truck was Not Road Worthy. Where today are there roads that has 35-45 mph speed limits other than Collinsville Ok and it’s surrounding country towns? Nowhere in Texas.
Now because the truck can’t travel on Texas roads it was diagnosed at $10,000+ to get fixed. At paying $16,000+ for this junk Collinsville refuse to give us our (grandsons) money back. They were to start their business and has lost two jobs behind this thievery. All their two yrs saving gone with no regards on breaking these kids whose trying to start a honest business.
PW and Collinsville Ok should both return these kids money. They should have Noted every issue like other auctions out here with a guarantee to back what’s Noted regardless of.

On August 15, 2023 an offer of resolution was provided to our buyer, not a full refund, but a rebate due to the issue. Both our seller and Purple Wave attempted to be helpful. From my records, to date, the offer has not been accepted.

Honestly, Not sure they can stay in business. The attitudes of these people and egos are rough I have bought over 50 items on multiple sites and never had people so unwilling to work with you in my life. If you don't pay in 2 days they hit you with a 15% surcharge. Do not use this auction company.

We do ask our customers to communicate on how they are paying following the auction events. We do work with our buyers that need additional time (for those sending a check or possibly financing their equipment purchase). Only after all attempts have failed do we assess the 15% default. We preference is to be paid so that we can meet our obligations with our sellers.

I feel that Purple Wave is deceitful in there dealings with people. You do not want to use their auction services. I am disappointed that the city of Broken Arrow Oklahoma would use this company to sell their property.

I've purchased all kinds of stuff from live auctions as well as on Purple wave and if the seller isn't an honest person who tells the auctions representative there are defects in the item its buyer beware in any kind of purchase whether an auction, private seller or car lot. I've purchased two trucks from PW the first one I went to inspect myself. The seller a city did not list any defects, It ran good but had some fluid leaks, since it came from Kansas I trailer-ed it home. After spending a $**** bucks for repairs it was still worth the value. My second vehicle also needed extensive repairs to the tune of *K. I have *K and change invested now and it still needs brakes. Some sellers either do not know what condition a vehicle is in or do not care. The defects in my latest purchase were extensive, . The rear main seal as well as other components was leaking the engine had to be pulled to repair it. This truck is still worth more than what i invested. I don't blame Purple wave , I have a truck listed, it has a lot of miles on it but it is in better condition than when i purchased it from a private party. It had a defect that could not be repaired even i tried. It is over 20 years old and uses some oil between changes which leaves it with a check engine light on. However I drove for 5 years and I bet it will go another ten without problems. My advice if you're looking to buy from anyone get yourself a trusted mechanic to fix whatever is needed, I have one.

Purple Wave basically said, "tough luck" when I called to complain about a seller not providing a battery to start the tractor that was shown starting and running. I certainly will not trade with Purple Wave ever again and I would suggest you think twice before supporting this company.

Purple wave doesn't stand by the auctions. They allowed a vehicle to be sold with know issues without disclosing those issues. These were not cosmetic issues but safety issues such as abs and airbags not functioning. They will not let us re-list the car because of the safety issues. Buyer beware
