Thursday February 16 my 2007 *** ****** was dropped off at Ekart Automotive after stalling on the highway and failing to maintain a jumpstart. Sharing my assumption that it was the alternator, I was told it shouldn’t take long and they’d be in touch. I called on Saturday when I hadn’t heard back and they said it was the alternator, motor and battery. I called again on Monday, and was told it had been made ready to go. Not once did this business contact me to notify me of progress or problems. When I asked for the repairs done, I was notified only an oil change had been done, and that I needed a new battery, but the alternator was fine. I asked about the motor, and was told it would drive with a new battery but that I needed to get to ******* for it ASAP. Hesitantly, the car turned over and began to drive there. At the intersection of *********** and ****** ***** **** (1 mile away), my car stalled and died on the road again. My landlord came to assist with transportation to ******* and installation of the battery, but the car remained broken. An Ekart employee came to check it out and told me to get a tow truck back to the shop. Wherein I was laughed at for my frustration that not only did it not even make it to ******* but the battery was also not the issue. I was asked “how should I have known?” and “What do you want me to do?” when requesting a reimbursement or refund of the tow. Under their instruction it was driven off to retrieve a fix that ultimately was not the issue. Had I been notified of other issues, had I not been reassured of a false hope, I would not have driven it off. I paid the $** tow. Additionally, the owner approached me today. After I stated disinterest in conversation repeatedly, he confrontationally brought up a negative review I wrote stating he was condescending towards me, and repeatedly asked me if I had paid the bill. Never did he call me to ask for payment, but he did call my landlord. My privacy was invaded… incredibly unprofessional.
