      Received information from former employer that iTedium was employer's "COBRA administrator" and was in the same message given login credentials for the www.mycobra.info web site.
      Upon logging in to www.mycobra.info and attempting to make the initial payment, iTedium's web site returned an error: "This service is not available until one day after you elect COBRA."
      When I returned the next moring to make a payment, I received a message conveying that my payment was late, and that I would be charged a $12.00 USD penalty fee.
      Upon contacting iTedium's billing support, I was told the charge was unavoidable unless I wanted to mail a paper check, thereby defeating any benefit of their online payment service.

      The web portal is not required and is there for members to elect online should they want to. The fee's are assessed by the banking facility and cannot be waived. Members are not required to utilize this website. There are no fee's to mail in a payment and election. The fee's are clearly marked and members must agree to the fee prior to making a payment. The website it optional only.

      iTedium's optional website charged me $12 fee for no reason; waiting for checks to clear in the mail is very 1990s. And fraught with risk when it comes to health care claims.
      The company "iTedium" is certainly aptly named, I will give it that.
