I got my estimate from ***** stating my siding was going to be $12,470.00. I spoke with my bank Heartland Credit union out of Wichita Kansas and sent them the estimate. They were only able to give me $10,812.00. ***** knew this and I agreed after completion I would pay the $1,658.00. As the job was almost done he told my boyfriend who is not on the loan and doesn't own the house he was going to have get a little more supplies. He never told me an amount he never discussed anything with me regarding this. I have sent him the 1,658.00. He is now wanting an extra $2,877.69. That is a 3rd of the price. I never agreed to pay that much extra he never told me I was going to need to find a way to come up with almost $3,000.00 more. I am a mom who cant just afford something like this and to be blind sided and to be hassled about the money that I never agreed to pay. I have messages that he states he messaged up the measuring that's not my fault he measured wrong. I don't understand why I have to pay for him making a mistake on the measurements. He bothered me again today stating he wants paid now, I did not sign for the bigger amount I never agreed to that.

I bid this job for 13 squares of siding using a very reputable measurement software. I provided this to both **** and **** via email.  Sometimes in construction there are circumstances which require us to use more material than the normal waste factor that our measurement reports account for. This was one of those circumstances.  I explained this to ****< Her boyfriend at the 1/2 way mark of the job. I thought they were married. I explained that my guys had already used up almost all 12 squares that i had originally delivered to the job. I held back a box originally  because I really didn't think it would be needed and I planned on returning it if it wasn't needed. ( I cant return it if the box gets wet). I explained to him it was going to take more siding than anticipated, but I was unsure of the cost increase due to not knowing exactly how much more siding it was going to take,  but probably 2 or 3 more squares.  He then helped me unload 5 more boxes of siding. My guys finished the job a couple days later. I went and counted the number of boxes that were used and cleaned up the rest of the debris from the job site. I talked to both of them that day and let **** know they had used just over 16 squares of siding and i would get him the invoice as soon as i got to the office. I sent the invoice to ****s email because he was my number one contact. I never heard from them for 2 weeks until I called and spoke to **** again He said no worries he just didn't see the invoice (Email), but he had found it while i was talking to him on the phone so he would get me a check sent out. I still had not received payment another week and a half later, and so I emailed **** and **** both and that is the email chain that you have on file. I have not been rude I am just trying to find out what we need to do to get this paid for. I have offered financing and help to remedy the situation. I explained to her that it was a surprise for me too. Usually the 10% waste factor is more than enough. On their house it just wasn't enough. There are a lot of windows and additional cuts required which wasted more material.  there are multiple factors that cause this but me making a mistake was not one of them. For example,  Sometimes we do roofs and when we tear it off we find out then that it needs new decking. This is not a mistake its an unforseen additional expense. You cant always see the rot before its torn off.  Its called a change order. It happens sometimes and the necessary steps were taken to notify this customer. I have seen a job before that we tore off the old window wraps and found wood rot underneath them. this is another perfect example of an unforseen situation. We had to charge extra to rebuild the window frame.  The customer, **** was notified before we moved forward on the rest of the work and He said ok he would just figure it out with the credit union. I have expressed the desire to help them in any way to help handle the billing. I was just asking them to help me come up with a plan on the payment so I would know when the payment would be in or if we need to do a financing or in house payment plan. I just need a plan of action for the payment. It is a part of a normal business billing discussion, nothing more nothing less.   **** was a party to this contract. He was the one I talked to the most. He was there the day we decided to sign the contract and move forward, he was there the day i delivered the extra siding , he was there the day we finished the job, and he has been communicating with me the whole time. He also said no worries about the rest of the bill and said he would contact his credit union and get the additional funds sent out asap.Twice he has said this.  Once at the 1/2 way point and once was the same day that **** emailed me back and said she was waiting on a call back from Topeka. The email thread that i just attached. This complaint is a complete surprise to me. long story short, **** and I have been in contact the whole job and has he has told me several times that he would get it paid. so I have been trying to get paid or make payment arrangements at the least. There is nothing unprofessional about this situation other than **** saying one thing to me and then filing a complaint with you and trying to make it look like my company has harassed her in some way. The proof is in the emails. I am attempting to collect a debt owed to the company.

Thank you for admitting that I talked to **** about it. I as stated before he gave me the go ahead to move forward with the additional siding. He was told it was looking like it would  probably be 2-3 more squares of siding, but I was not sure and could not be sure until we were finished to know for sure. It was 3 additional squares and a few pieces. The important part is he was notified and he did approve of me moving forward. For this reason the additional siding will need to be paid for. Again he told me twice not to worry he would just talk to the credit union. To assume that I know my customers financial situation is disingenuous. For her to say that they were blindsided and harassed is very disingenuous. It is Down right false. I have proven that I was extremely courteous and willing to help in any way with a payment arrangement. The payment is now over 30 days past due and no arrangement has been made to make a payment.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: I have attached pictures of everything that was still let. I do not accept this response I would never approve another almost 3,000$. I took this bid not expecting to be ripped off and taken advantage of. You don’t bid someone so wrong and just tell them they owe you, that’s is far from professional! I have 2 photos of all the material left over but it’s not letting me upload them if I could send them to somebody that would be great!

    Sincerely,

    **** *******
