    On August 21, 2023 I received correspondence from *** ****** * ********** regarding service
performed on or about 01/03/2023 by The Eye Doctors, with a balance due of $35.00 plus fees in
the amount of $6.30, for a total of $41.30. Since I have never seen The Eye Doctors, I telephoned
    *** ****** * *********** I spoke with a representative who checked on the above-referenced
claim, and was informed that the individual they were looking for did not have the same birthdate
as me. I requested that they remove me from this collection, and was advised that I would need to
contact The Eye Doctors to have it removed.
I then called the phone number for The Eye Doctors ***************) and chose the option for
billing questions. I spoke with a representative and was advised they had a Sheila Wade in their
system, but not at my address and not with the same birthdate. I was advised that they could not
remove me from this debt. I asked to speak with someone with authority to do that, and apparently
there was no one at that number with any authority. I then found out I was not speaking with the
Olathe office, but a central billing office.
I then called the Olathe office and spoke with a representative. She informed me that the charges
were most likely from a visit with *** ******* ****** *** ***** was my eye doctor many years ago
and was not affiliated with The Eye Doctors at that time. I have not seen *** ***** since 2006. I
requested something in writing stating that I did not owe this debt, but was told that I would need
to speak with the supervisor who was not in the office at that time. The representative I was
speaking with said she would have
I would like to obtain written the supervisor call me the next day. I am still waiting for that
call. The correspondence received on August 21, 2023 from *** ****** * ********** was the
first I had learned of this attempt at collection. I definitely did not receive any services from The
Eye Doctors on January 3, 2023. Ifthis does stem from any services rendered to me by Dr. Luthi,
it would have occurred over 17 years ago. I am sure that the Statute of Limitations for something
    that old has long passed.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/24/2023

    Good evening,

I apologize for the delay in response as this complaint was sent to the incorrect location and took some time to make it's way to my desk.  I have looked into this situation and have discovered the following. It does appear that we used the address located on the patients ID card for the billing statements.  The difference in the account on file and the complainants information is the date of birth. This could have been a possible error on the office's part and as such, we will  be pulling the statement from collections and removing the balance for this consumer.  Once completed, she should no longer receive any other communication.

    Thank you,

    Ronee Bahena
