The consumer also reached out to Compass Minerals in late 2024 regarding not being happy with the product he purchased. The consumer sent a proof of purchase receipt and requested a refund. Compass Minerals sent a check on 1/16/25 and it cleared the bank on 1/30/25. We felt the complaint was resolved.

We have reviewed the concerns raised as to our Safe Step® Pro Series® Choice Formula 960 Ice Melter with MG 104® product with our applicable internal teams. Per the "Caution" statement on the product bag, ice melters can cause surface damage because of the stress associated with accelerated freezing and thawing cycles, and such potential for damage can increase due to severity of weather and the age, quality and curing of the concrete. As a result, when deciding whether or not to use ice melters, users must weigh the hazards associated with slippery surfaces against the potential for surface damage. Base on the foregoing, Compass Minerals is unable to assume responsibility for the concrete damage you've alleged.

I am rejecting this response because:

Makes no sense that they advertise won't harm concrete...when it destroys it and when I called the first time I was told they have had bad salt in the past ....and by the way my sidewalk was 2 years old well cured I was led to believe it was safe base off what it says in the front it don't take a rocket scientist to spred salt I understand they/you guys are trying to not be at fault but it clearly states WONT HARM WHICH IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH ILL BE IN CONTACT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

    Sincerely,
