    We had two La Z Boy chairs to be reupholstered. Neighbor who had dining chairs recovered suggest Best Upholstery. Contact owner, delivered chairs to the store Aug 3, 2023, selected in stock fabric, wrote a check and was told new padding/foam would be used. Expectation of completion a month. it appeared there were no other items in shop in progress so expected chairs to be completed with two - three weeks. Was told by owner to check back for progress/job completion. Sept 6, texted Owner for status. Was told that expert work takes time and it would be three months. Expressed surprise at the length of time as it was mentioned that it would be three weeks. Oct 3 - texted for an update.Owner-“ Still working on them hopefully buy (sic) this weekend. Oct 16 - Owner =“Almost” Oct 23 Texted “Does this week look like the chairs will be finished?” Owner =“Yes they should.” Oct 26 Texted “Will drive in to pick up chairs on Monday Oct 30” Owner “L try my be (sic)” Oct 28 Texted “Wed Nov 1 10 AM chair pick up. Work for you?” Owner’s reply “Yes”. Nov 1 Arrived to pick up chairs and was told by staff that the chairs were not ready. We asked to see the chairs and found both chairs partially reupholstered. The chair backs looked the same as when we delivered the chairs in August. Owner arrived and said that another hour the chairs would be done. It would be a rush job. Following discussion Owner said that the chairs could be picked up Friday Nov 3rd at 3:30PM. Nov 3rd, Owner texted to come at 4:30. Nov 4th, Noon, we picked up the completed chairs. Upholstery job was not the most professional. Document any and all transactions. Do your homework. After this frustrating experience, I checked with the Better Business Bureau web site. Best Upholstery has a D+ rating. The BBB web site also list other upholstery businesses in the KC/Area and many have an A+ rating. After this experience would not recommend doing any business with Best Upholstery and Supplies.
