It's been almost 2 months and Boyd's Garage won't finish my vehicle. They said I needed a new motor. Then when I got the motor they said it wasn't the right one. Then I had to pay more and get another motor. Then they said they had to take a new motor apart to clean heads which is apart of the motor. I have lost 2 jobs over this. This is supposed to be a professional place other wise I would have had someone else do it. They are trying to make me pay for parts of the motor I bought as if I was stupid and don't know all the parts of the motor. Now they are saying it's my old motor? Why did I have to pay extra for a new motor then? I'm a single mom of two kids and I'm about to lose my house because of them hustling me. I drove by there and they still have done anything. They keep telling me my car will be done in two weeks. Well that's been almost two months ago. I want my vehicle so I can support my family. Every single one of his review are true. It's unbelievable

Customer, ***** brought her vehicle in to have her motor replaced. The motors she was originally getting was the wrong motor. She was notified that the motor was not the correct motor and we would have to send that motor back and get the correct motor. At which time, she was trying to come up with the funds for the price for the funding of the motor. Once she came up with the funds for the correct motor for the vehicle, the incorrect motor was sent back. That process for her to come up with the funds to purchase the correct motor and for the refund to be received back from the incorrect motor took about a month and a week to be completed. ***** and her father came by the shop and asked me how we were going to fix the motor.I told him we were going to order the long block. He said “what type of motor are you getting this time? Are you just getting a long block”? I told him yes this would be the best way. With a long block, you have to take all the parts off the old motor and put them onto the new long block. When inspecting the motor I informed her that it would probably just be best for us to rebuild her old motor because the block of the old motor looked like it was in better shape than the new motor. With doing that, we had to send off her heads to get cleaned and resurfaced. That ended up taking quite some time because ******** which is a motor shop that resurfaces and cleans heads machine were down. So, they were sending jobs out to another shop called Precision, which is a motor shop in North Topeka. Which was extremely backed up because they were getting all of ******** work. I notified the customer of this and told her once we got the heads back, we would get the motor together. I told the customer on  8/27/24 that we were picking up the heads today. It would be 2 weeks once the heads were picked up and the motor would be done. The heads weren’t picked up until 9/2/24 because they were closed by the time we got there on 8/27/24. We are now in the process of putting the motor back together and getting the vehicle returned to the customer. A motor rebuild takes quite a bit of hours and we are busy with other jobs too. The average time for a shop that is busy to get a rebuilt motor back to a customer is 2 week-1 month. She will have her vehicle by the end of September. The process of her car taking a different motor than what is labeled on the car and the fact that these motors are listed to fit all these and they don’t, and returning two motors is the reason why it has taken so long to get her vehicle back to her along with her heads having to get cleaned and resurfaced. Once again, the customer has been notified a.one the way with the whole process. She was not working when she left the vehicle with us originally so not having her vehicle did not cause her to lose any jobs. The process that she is complaining about, which even in this timeframe to have a motor swapped and rebuilt at any shop when running into complications has not been unreasonable. Vehicle will be returned to customer by the end of September 2024. Sorry that we can’t please every customer but we are working diligently on her vehicle. There has been no wrong doing toward her. This is simply the process due to the circumstances that we have been facing. As far as our reviews, we have very good reviews. We had a mechanic that was fired from here and was making false reviews which was aware of. She told us that she really appreciated us and could tell by our customer service that were were just awesome.

The car has been repaired and ready to go for 3 weeks, since September 28th, 2014.  I truly believe this is an attempt for her to try and get out of a bill. She brought the car in for a diagnostic. At that time, we told her the motor was bad or that we believed it was a timing chain. We also told her oil was pitch black at that time. She said her boyfriend she had just broken up with had changed the oil. We showed her the oil, and the filter was old, and she asked us to change it to see if it would make a difference. Of course, changing the oil did not make a difference. We told the customer that it would be better to find a used motor because to repair the timing chain would be more. We then told the customer to let us know if we could help. A couple of days later, she said she was dropping it off to be repaired. I told her there was a motor I saw for $1,800 something dollars that looked like it would fit. When the motor came in, the motor was for a different version of her vehicle. I notified her and told her that the motor would not fit because hers was a flex fuel motor. She said she would let me know what she decided to do. I did not get confirmation and payment to get the correct motor until around the 23rd-24th of July. Once we got her different motor ordered, when putting her old intake on the new motor, we noticed that the new motor that we had received, its internals components looked to be in worse shape than her original old motor. At which time, I called her and told her that we were just going to do her a favor at no extra cost and rebuild her old motor because these types of motors are known to fail and the warranty only covers the motor, not the labor. So, we were going to go the extra mile and rebuild her old motor so she could have a reliable car for a long time. She was ok with it. Then, she texts me every day asking is her car done. I explained the process to her repeatedly. To make a long story short, her car has been done for almost a month. She has a totally rebuilt motor which is a lot more expensive, but I am always going the extra mile for my customers. Her car is ready to go. She has been saying for 3 weeks that she will be here with her mechanic to inspect and pick up the vehicle. She still has a no show to inspect, pay or pick up the vehicle. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
