On July 14, 2024, I purchased a monthly subscription to Ninja CPA Review for $67, based on an advertisement that stated I could receive a 100% refund if I was not satisfied within the first 30 days, provided I was a first-time customer and had a trending score of 75% or higher.

I was not satisfied with the subscription and decided to cancel. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that I had logged in more than 40 times during the month and that my trending score was blank. They explained that the trending score is calculated based on the last 250 questions answered.

I pointed out that my overall score was 76% in over 400 questions I answered and that I could not see the trending score on the website. Additionally, the refund policy did not mention any requirement about the last 250 questions for the trending score. However, they dismissed my concerns, saying that logging in frequently and seeking a refund for $67 was unusual.

I believe this advertisement is misleading.

Complaints about our company are very rare. You can go to CPA Reddit and search "NINJA worth it" and you'll see many posts from people who like how we treated them in their CPA Exam prep.

The complainant clearly had a refund in mind from the beginning. He logged in over 40 times and worked in the NINJA MCQ Test Bank for over 7 hours, working 400+ questions.

CPA Candidates don't invest 7+ hours of precious study time on a tool that isn't up to par.

There is one section of the blueprint that he worked zero questions, which caused him to not have a Trending Score, which is a requirement for a refund. We have this requirement to help us not get scammed.

We are the second-most mentioned CPA Review Course on Reddit, and our reputation speaks for itself.

This individual posted two separate threads about NINJA on Reddit, only to have the reddit community scold him, causing him to delete the posts.

    Those threads are here: ****************

    and here: ****************

The image included in this complaint is also misleading because it wasn't my original response - the comment he posted came later and it was in response to his assertion that it would have been helpful if the exact definition of a Trending Score was spelled out - which has never been an issue until this complaint. A Trending Score takes into account your most recent 250 questions according to Blueprint weighting. The complainant didn't have any data from one of the Blueprint sections.

The complainant doesn't qualify for a refund. However - if they will agree to never use our services again - including not creating another account with a different email, we will gladly return their money for the sake of peace.

We have always stood by our refund policy and in the rare instance when someone asks for one - and they meet the small threshold of 250 questions across all blueprint sections, we grant their refund request, no questions asked.

Hello -The 30 days thing was never a factor, nor was it brought up in our correspondence. Your usage of the service was brought up because people don't log in 40 times and then decide it wasn't worth $67. I have refunded your payment - only so that we can both stop wasting our time with this issue. It may take a few business days for your CC to reflect this. You have exams to study for - and I have customers to serve. I'm sorry NINJA wasn't a fit for you - God Bless, ****
