    When I turned down the sheets to go to bed, there were fresh, yellow stains all over the sheets. I called the front desk and the owner answered. She came up and acknowledged the dirty sheets but said, "I will not take responsibility for that at all. You planted those dirty sheets so you could get a refund. Well, you need to contact hotels.com and tell them." Then, she immediately turned around and left the room. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life and I was dumb-struck and confounded. I went downstairs and she wouldn't even talk to me. All I could do was leave. The owner is absolutely a horrible person. Never experienced anything like this in my life. I want to leave "zero" stars but it makes you choose one so I gave it one star.

    I WAS PROFILED BY KELLY! I am from California, I came for 2 days. The hotel had a great set up which accommodates all 3 of us so I thought, why not? I was told that no locals are allowed to rent, I was ok with that. I asked over the phone if I could check in early, Kelly said yes and I arrived around noon. She was at lunch from 12-1 which she never did mention, so after being outside for an hour, she finally comes. Checks me in, and asks all kinds of weird questions like why am I there, who am I with, what brings me to town, and how long I plan to be there. AFTER AN HOUR, I CALLED THE OFFICE B/C NONE OF THE TVS WORKED, AND THE WASHER DIDNT WORK, SO SHE SENDS UP A WOMAN WHO COMES AND CHANGES BATTERIES TO THE REMOTES, AND SAYS SHE CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE WASHER. THEN AN HOUR LATER, KELLY HERSELF COMES TO MY DOOR AND STARTS ACCUSING ME OF HAVING TRAFFIC, &when I tell you I literally had no idea what she was talking about. I tell her I really dk what you're talking about, she like, well we just cant have that ok.. and walks away. I said ok, and shut the door. LITERALLY 20 MINS LATER, the police come to my door. OMG! I opened the door, spoke to them, gathered my things and went straight to the office where Kelly seemed sooo in shock. I politely asked for my refund. She started to try to say no in a loud tone, which I replied with the same loud tone, IVE BEEN DRIVING FOR DAYS, IVE BEEN HERE 2 HOURS. GIVE ME MY MONEY. the police are just standing off to the side while the housekeeper (lady who brought the batteries) says a man came looking for the 3rd floor. ok so?? she tells me im the only one on the 3rd floor. I asked her if he was door dash, to which everyone stays quiet . then I ask her, what are you insinuating. still nothing. the housekeeper was smoking in the lobby, which caught me by soooo much surprise. like what in the ghetto is going on here! they need a new manager and new policies. I wasn't told I couldn't order things or have any guests.

    I had booked a reservation (through Booking.com) with Washburn Hotel Suites in January 2023 for the weekend of March 17-19. My sister and I are local residents & were looking forward to a weekend get away to unwind. I contacted Washburn Hotel Suites on March 13 to inquire inquire about a possible $150 deposit. I was asked if I was a local resident, to which I replied that I was. I was then told that there was a change in the policy and they do not accept local residents and cancelled my reservation. I was incredibly upset and requested an exception considering our check in date was only 5 days away. They told me "Contact Booking.com for a refund & they can relocate you. No exceptions - best wishes."
    I was never made aware of a "change in policy" upon booking the reservation. I even reached out to Washburn Suites before my deposit inquiry to the hotel and still wasn't informed about this "policy change." This was only made known to me when I reached out to inquire about the deposit. I hate to imagine what would have happened if we'd shown up the day of check in to be told about this & left with no place to go other than home. I can't imagine that I'm not the only local that had made a reservation with them. They have now lost money & any opportunity for future business from myself and what I anticipate will be many other customers because of this. I've always been a supporter of local businesses especially anything affiliated with my Alma Mater, Washburn University. This type of behavior is completely unprofessional & an embarrassment to the town I call home. I wish I could mark zero stars, however, I had to leave a star rating & even rating Washburn Suites one star was far to lenient.
