I contracted Dream Realty LLC (******* ********* owner) on 2/25/25, to submit a bid for a full kitchen to be installed in my basement. I had already purchased the flooring, cabinets, counter tops, and appliances. I made a downpayment of $7,000.00 on 3/1/25. On 3/18/25 I wrote another check for $317.98 to cover plumping and lumber expenses ******* missed. ******* was subcontracting much of the work out to construction friends. On 3/27/25 He was under some pressure to pay his friends and was inquiring about the final payment of $6410.48. I believed there was much work to be done. He was sure the work would be done that week. I was scheduled to be out of town for several days and allowed ******* to work inside my home to complete the project. I paid him the balance due of $6410.48 with the assurance he would complete this project. The tasks needed completion included relocating electrical switches, replacing storeroom sheetrock, assemble island backing, install sink, install flooring, install drop ceiling, complete ceiling lights, hooking up refrigerator water line, anchoring island, attach cabinet knobs, frame windowsill, and providing access to water shutoff. To be fair, some of these items needed completion by Home Depot for delivery. On 4/9/25, the flooring was delivered, and a crew came out to install it. The countertop crew came out, measured and discovered a cabinet needed relocation. Over the next several weeks, I often called ******* to see if a crew would be out. Every time, he said they were picking up supplies and heading my way. No one showed up. On 5/27/25, I hired a different handyman. I officially fired ******* on 5/30/25. The new crew had to readjust the cabinets, replace the fridge water line address black mold that had developed due to the fridge leaking, remud the sheetrock, and complete the necessary task for my kitchen to be workable. I am seeking a rebate of $6410.48 due to the need to hire a different firm. (final payment)
