We bought a newly built house on 4/30/2024 and paid the builder (Relph Construction) to remove a fiberglass tub kit and install tile. The job was done before the closing on the house. We waited until the new shower doors were installed before using it. The grout began to dissolve as soon as with sprayed it with water. We contacted a reputable tile installer to look at it and give his recommendation which was a complete replacement. I started contacting Relph on 9/23/2024 and have been put off continuously. At this point we would like a refund of the amount paid so we can have the entire job redone, which is what is recommended to prevent future water damage behind the tile.

We have been in contact with the Tile manufacturer and the grout manufacturer and they have been out to *** ****** to look at the master shower

The recommendation of the representatives from both companies is the remove the grout and regrout the shower

The manufacturer stated it was a bad mix of grout and they would regrout the shower after removing the existing grout

We have tried to set an appointment to perform the work but the owners do not want to do that

They have had another Company that sells flooring come out and tell them they think it would be best to tear out all of the tile in the shower and Start over , no signs that there is any other issue except for the grout

We are waiting to hear if the owners would like for us to come back and remove grout and regrout the shower

**** if you have damaged tile we will replace the tile that is damaged

We do many tile showers and have not had this problem with the grout before so we would like to have the opportunity to come back and make it right

We do not pay other companies to come in after us ,we will fix the problem and warranty the shower fully

This is a grout mix problem not an installation problem

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

II spent the last two week repairing and touching up areas that were supposedly done before we closed on the house. I am in no way interested in having the same workers do it again. Everything they have done has cost me money. This is an install problem. We're going to have it done correctly this time.

    Sincerely,

Purchased new build home August 2020. Builder/builder representative signed an addendum at closing that identified repairs that were found prior to closing. There has been multiple contractors to make assessments of the items that needed to be repaired and limited action has been done to correct the issues stated in the addendum. The company’s owner visited August 2022 to view the uncorrected items. There has been one contractor to visit the home and make another assessment in November 2022. Since then, builder has not responded to any follow-up emails regarding repairs that were not completed on the addendum the builder signed two and a half years ago. The garage door and paint to the exterior of the home (items listed in the addendum) has been corrected previous to August 2022. The builder and contractors have been very respectful when they do visit the home but have also been unresponsive in further communications. I would like to just get the items corrected in order to move forward without worry.
