On May 7th, we took our 2015 QX60 to The Shop located at 126 1st Street, Overbrooke Kansas. *** ********, owner of Chief Pete’s Transmission was hired by us to rebuild a transmission for our vehicle due to codes that were present on a scan from Capital City Nissan. Our vehicle, for the last few months was “hesitation/skip-like sensation” at 20 mph, which is why we took it to Capital Nissan initially to have it looked at. Capital City Nissan offered to replace the transmission (we declined due to the cost being more than 5,000.00. So *** was recommended. Actually highly recommended. He had us take our vehicle to The Shop on the above date to remove the transmission. *** then came and picked it up at some point. He had the transmission until approximately June 5th, when he had taken it to The Shop so they could reinstall the transmission. That day they notified me that it was not working after it was put back in. *** then picked up our vehicle from The Shop via tow. And it is unknown he removed it again and re installed it. We did not get our vehicle back until 7/22, at that time I paid The Shop, when to start the vehicle and it was “crunching” in reverse. Left it there. To return the following day. They placed a new O2 sensor, we picked it up, it squealed with a metallic sound all the way home, STILL had the original issue at 20 mph and seemed to have a low engine hum/rumble that was not there prior. My in-laws were present. We chose to continue to try to make it home with the plan to take it somewhere to get a second opinion as to what further damage has been done. The vehicle is in worst shape than it was originally.
Amount paid to Chief Pete’s Transmission: 2157.00
Amount paid to The Shop: 1700.00
My request to both business was a refund so we can have our vehicle properly taken care of. They have both decline our request.
The Shop Receipt is hard copy at home but can provide
