Dear Better Business Bureau,
I am writing to file a complaint against Ad Astra Recovery Services, Inc. regarding their failure to honor our agreement and adhere to their own policies. I had a collections account with Ad Astra, which I paid in full on February 18th, 2022, in the amount of $********. In exchange for my payment, Ad Astra agreed to remove the account from my credit report entirely.
Initially, the account was removed as agreed and my credit score improved. However, after a few months, the account reappeared on my credit report, damaging my credit score once again. Despite my attempts to contact Ad Astra via email and phone, I have received no response. When I called the number provided, ************, I received a message that the number was no longer in service. When I called ************, I left voicemails that were not returned.
It is important to note that Ad Astra also has a policy on their website, called "Important Update," that states they will request the removal of reported tradelines associated with an account that has been paid in full or settled. Ad Astra is not adhering to their own policy by continuing to report the fully settled account to both Equifax and TransUnion, despite our agreement to remove the account.
I would like to reference the confirmation number provided to me by Ad Astra, which is ******, as well as the last four digits of my social security number, which are ****. My name is Thomas ******.
I am seeking your assistance in resolving this issue with Ad Astra and ensuring that they honor their agreement to remove the account from my credit report. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Thomas ******Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I do not understand what it means that the client has "recalled the account" please explain what "recalling an account" means and is any further information needed from me? The account has been paid and full. I understand a request for delete has been issued, when was it issued?Otherwise, very much appreciate the response and clarifications - thank you.
Sincerely,

I received a notice that I have a collection from AD ASTRA REC on my credit report. It says it was opened on 01/03/2020 for $****** with account number starting in ******* that I am not aware of nor am I responsible for. I never went into business with this company or signed any agreements with them so they should not be reporting anything on my credit. This is a violation of my rights as a consumer according to the FCRA and FDCPA.
I would like for this collection to be removed asap or I will file a CFPB and FTC report.Business Response

Our client confirmed the accuracy of the information as well as the amount owed for the accounts. We have researched our records and the current records of our client and determined that there is no inconsistency with the data we are reporting to the credit reporting agencies.
