I don’t think I should pay the balance to get my teeth fixed correctly.insurance and myself have paid to get fixed properly not happy will take my business elsewhere as well as my money. small balance of $300. No I’m not happy. I have a mouth is infected. My teeth hurt and said they won’t fix it until I pay the 300 balance. I’d like to have my money back go someplace else before I go to any legal matters tired of being lied to when I have other problems in my life.

We have explained to *** ***** *hat we have a two year guarantee on our work and if something we did is not right we would be more than happy to replace at no cost. We then proceeded to schedule *** ***** so that we could replace any such work. We had him scheduled on 10/31/2023, 11/07/2023 and 11/20/23. All appointments were for 2 hours so totaling 6 hours of Doctors time. However, *** ***** cancelled each appointment. Which suggests that he is not in pain or concerned with having any work redone. *** ***** has also had a balance on his account since 2022. Our office Policy is "Payment due at time of service". We have been generous in letting him make small monthly payment. Usually he pays $30-$50 per month which is why it is taking him years to get it paid off. Therefore, we do not believe a refund is warranted.

my wife has tried to let Twietmeyer put a crown on her tooth and she has been in their office started 12-29-22 then 1-26-23 then 2-9-23 then 2-9-23 then 2-23-23 then 3-7-23 went to other dentist 3-16-23. Insurance paid.
Twietmeyer committed to provide my wife with a new undamaged crown. The crown twietmeyer put on is cracked. They have not tried to resolve this issure. My wife still has pain cannot eat and bitting her cheek and cannot really clean in that area where the crown is cracked. They dont think that this is realy an emergency and is a laughing matter.

We have spoken to both Sen and her husband Sammy at great lengths to explain the risk of dental crown treatment. Unfortunately, dental crowns are subject to complications. Below are some of the problems that one may face.

      Pain
Expect some level of discomfort or slight pain when you first get your dental crown. The pain should dissipate after a short while, however,  if the initial pain doesn’t disappear then there may be another problem.

      Heightened Sensitivity
The enamel, which is the outermost surface layer of the tooth, protects the inner tooth tissues from external stimuli. When the tooth is prepared for a dental crown, the dentist removes some of the enamel to improve the crown’s fit.
Unfortunately, the decrease in enamel thickness reduces its protective nature, and the tooth may be more susceptible to environmental stimuli after a dental crown treatment. With heightened sensitivity, one may feel dental pain or discomfort when teeth are exposed to hot or cold food and drinks.

      Bite Issues
A dental crown increases the tooth’s size — both height and girth. Despite the enamel shaving preparation, however, the crowned tooth may still end up marginally bigger than it used to be before treatment.

Crowns are typically a 2 appointment procedure. However, this case presented with many challenges due to  extensive mesial decay below the gumline and needed to be sent back to the lab to be remade. Patient became upset that it was taking longer than expected. We apologized and explained to patient that we did not want to put a crown on that did not fit properly and that a good it will ensure that the restoration will last for many years to come. Crown was placed and we heard nothing else from the patient for two months.  That is when Sammy called requesting a refund as he stated the crown has broke and wife has been in pain for months. We offered to see patient so that take an x-ray to see what was going on and if crown was indeed cracked we would replace at no charge as we stand by our work and guarantee it for 2 years. Husband refused to let patient return to our office. Patient and her husband then came to the office to meet with Dr ******* ********** about the issue.  Once again all the risks of a crown was discussed with them, x-rays and intra-oral pictures were used to help explain the circumstances.  Patient was again offered to be seen in our office at no charge. Patient stated she would think about it and let us know.  She called back a few days later and scheduled to have the crown remade. She is scheduled on 05/24/23 at 2:40 PM.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

For one they did not speak to Sen and I Sammy at great lengths to explain the risks of dental crown treatment.

Pain- they put the crown on three times the pain never went away.

Heightened Sensitivity - Twietmeyer decreased the enamel on Sen's tooth three times to where it is too close to the tooths nerve. Is the health of the tooth now damaged?

Bite Issues - Is this why it took 3 times now 4 times to make the height and girth right? Which on the 3rd time they cracked the crown. Twietmeyer dentistry say its typically a 2-appointment procedure. Sen is on her 4th and 5th appointment. the crown was sent to the lab 2 times the 3rd time they made in Twietmeyer's office. How long will a cracked crown last? Twietmeyer had 3 tries to get the crown to fit properly, this is why we wanted to go to another dentistry. For two months we have been working with the insurance. Mr. ******* did not discuss the risk's involved with the crown to my wife and I.

      Sincerely,

      Sammmy *****

We saw patient, Sen *****, on May 25, 2022 to discuss her concerns and evaluate her tooth sensitivity.  At that time we removed the existing crown, checked the vitality of the tooth which tested within normal limits, placed a desensitizer and scanned for a new zirconia crown, W then placed a temporary crown to see if her symptoms subside. Patient called back on 06/05/23 to report tooth isn't feeling near as it was. Patient is scheduled back on 6/26/23 to re-evaluate and place new zirconia crown if tooth is non-symptomatic. We have made every effort to make the patient happy and will continue to do so. Therefor we do not believe a refund is due.
