In December, I signed a 6 month lease with ******* ****** of Poise Aesthetics. She was the landlord for this salon establishment. When I began my contract period in February-August, I only worked there 2 months and a few days. During the time that transpired the landlords (*******) did NOT provide a safe or legal space and had to accommodate my work space. I can also provide ***** *******’ contact information (she is the inspector for the ****** State Board of Cosmetology). We remained at the agreed upon pricing and moved on. In April, ******* contacted me and informed me my rent would be almost doubling in price, if I was unwilling to pay I was to be evicted. Not within my term or lease. I agreed to leave instead of paying the illegal increase in rent. I vacated the space April 11 and asked for my $300 security deposit. She told me per the contract she had 30 days to return the security deposit. She still has not. It is not May 14 and I have reached out twice. She has ignored my messages and blocked me on various social medias. I have pictures and evidence of how I left the space in immaculate condition.

The alleged complaint is false. I opened a Salon/Spa 6/2023. I rent out private suites to individual business owners. There was a spa side with private suites and a salon side with a combo of open stations (nail and hair stations) and private suites. The ****** Board of Cosmetology had been there several times to inspect other Business Owners suites. When ******* and another Nail tech came to rent from me, it wasn't until the ****** Board of Cosmetology came to inspect *******'s open concept nail station that I was informed an Esthetician cannot oversee other beauty professionals. A cosmetologist had to oversee with his/her license. This changed my entire business plan and after meeting with the owner of the building and my business consultant, we decided we would add additional private suites. I told ******* she could move into suite 8 on the salon side which was a private suite while we built a private/enclosed nail station. She was in that private suite for over a month without rent increasing. After reevaluating the costs of adding on 2 additional rooms, i informed ******* that we would not be adding on a private nail suite and that she could move back out into the open salon side and my new cosmetologist would have her license oversee so it would be up to state rules or she could stay in the room she was in and the rent would go up in 30 days to 700.00 (she was paying 115.00/week). She texted back and asked a few questions about the new increased amount and then 2 days later informed that i could not raise her rent and told me she was leaving. per the contract, i am to give the sublessee 30 days notice for terminating lease or changes and that is what i did. Due to breach of contract the sublessee forfeited her deposit per the contract. If there are any other questions, please contact my legal counsel at ************ ** ***** Services. The sublessee has also signed a non-disparagement agreement and this complaint is also in breach of that agreement for slander and falsifying information and legal action will be taken.
