On Monday, April 8, 2024, I sold a forklift to ABC Recycling in Wichita Kansas. I chose to sell my piece of machinery to the scrapyard because I called to find out pricing as they instruct customers to do so on their website and I was told they were paying $150 per ton today. Another reason I chose to sell my piece of machinery to them is because that. they very boldly boast that they are the “home of the highest price guarantee” (pictures to support this claim attached) which to me means that if there is a another scrapyard in town paying a higher price that they will match it which there was; ******* ******** Recovery, was paying $170 per ton today (see attached photo) so given these facts I made the grave mistake of deciding to do business with ABC Recycling. After unloading, said piece of machinery getting my empty weight and pulling off of their scales, I proceeded to the scalehouse to get paid only to my dismay when I was paid a measly $85 per ton not the $150 they claimed they were paying when I
called them an hour prior and most certainly not holding up there “highest price in town guarantee“ and matching their competitions price at $170 per ton. When I told them I felt that their pricing was an error. They refused to do what they claim that they do. They also refuse to pay me what they said they were paying per ton, which was $150 and point-blank told me that’s all they were willing to pay me was $85 per ton for a total of $689.35. They also refused to load the forklift back onto my trailer during this conversation.I feel like I was deceived, lied to and point-blank taken advantage of/robbed. I have also attached a copy of the receipt I received that proves these claims. They claim to be transparent and to never take advantage of their customers, and that is a straight up lie! They most certainly took advantage of me today and I believe they need to be held accountable for their actions because who knows how many people have fallen victims their deception.

yes we were paying 150 a ton for metal and and the forklift he brought in was oversized and he was told the price would be half because of the counter weight after we saw it and before he unloaded it. and we would not have any problem reloading any material  that a customer decide not to sell we told him the price before he unloaded his equipment and this is the reason we do not normally give prices over the phone without seeing the material first  we do have the best prices and want all our customers happy i am so sorry we had a misunderstanding.
