      Both my girlfriend and I applied for ICT Rentals to move into one of their units available. We had been up front on the matter of having ESA compliant animals needed for my girlfriend and provided all the requested paperwork for approval. We got a letter of approval to move in for this coming August and deposited $2,000, everything was set and ready to move in the coming month when the contact we had asked what animals they are which we had spoken on before. I mistakenly said pitbull but they are American Staffshire Terriers, but we then got a response which by the way this was 7 weeks after providing the Deposit to them that they then said sorry you may not be permitted to move in. No discussion just that, ESA animals cannot be rejected on any premise, and we have been nothing but forthcoming with the information and documentation requested of us. This puts us now in a bind as we had been planning to move in together and now we cannot, and all the available rentals are now unavailable.

      We regret that upon additional consideration of residency, we chose to deny your application. This change is based on your comments in the text messages with our leasing agent, ******** 
      In your messages, you noted that you had (2) pit bulls. This by itself is no problem, we do not deny applicants based on the breed of their dogs. However, we take temperament and behavior into consideration. When ******* inquired about the temperament of the dogs, you commented that one of them has anxiety and can lash out. 
      While we can appreciate the proactive measures of locking the gates and doing your own maintenance behind the fence, both of these measures are in conflict with how we like to run our neighborhoods. We provide landscaping and lawn care for the purposes of continuity of care among all of our properties. 
      With that said, the reason for denial, is due to the known temperament of your dog and the risk it poses to the safety and security of our other residents. Regardless of the dog breed, any dog with a temperament that requires them to be isolated from outside people, creates unnecessary risk for our other residents and a liability to the owners of the properties for which we manage.
