First and last time customer. Be sure to open your machine case when you pick it up from servicing. I dropped off my Pfaff 1222e for general service last week and picked it up yesterday. I was pleased until the lady said she pushed my power button into the down position and was stuck down. When I dropped it off is was stuck in the up position to begin with and wasn't easy to push down so I never forced it. I know you have to turn on and off the machine. The issue is that it looks like the button was forced down into my sewing machine. Then when I got home and tried lifting the presser foot with the lever it snapped with no effort. I called and the store and they said they would look at it. I brought it in today and she immediately said that wasn't their responsibility even though it wasn't broken when I dropped it off. She claimed it was fine when I picked it up. I made the mistake of trusting them and not opening the case to inspect my machine before leaving.

The machine was fine when it left the store. This customer was trying to get us to pay for a repair that happened after the machine left the store. I did press the power button, but the technician confirmed for me that the customer chose not to have it repaired and that having it stuck in the down position had no impact on the way the customer was going to use the machine. I shared that I had pressed the power button with the customer because I wanted to be transparent about what happened with that button.

I do wish I had showed her the machine before she left because the presser foot lever was just fine when the machine left the store. Both our technician and I had used it with no trouble. I believe this customer was just trying to get us to pay for a repair to a problem that we did not cause. We are careful with the machines our customers entrust to us, and I have never had anyone accuse us of damaging their machine before.

Follow up on my review. She only told me the had pushed the button into the machine AFTER I had mentioned it was stuck in the up position. She laughed and said it was stuck in the down position because she said she "can't help herself when she sees a button and has to press it." I had to replace the lever they cracked. Luckily it was only $20 for me to get it fixed elsewhere with a genuine PFAFF part. The issue is the lack of accountability on their part.
