    We had an awful experience at the Wichita Surgery Center. The surgeon was wonderful, but the rest of the staff didn't listen to the patient or myself, her mother until my voice was raised. She voiced to three different staff members that she was still able to feel her knee pain. The nerve blocker did not work. They did surgery on her ACL without any pain medication and when she came out she felt everything. After giving her narcotics and very little change in the level of her pain, the nurse told me that they had done everything that they could do and I would just have to take her home. I told her no I wouldn't, twice, and to get a doctor. The anesthesiologist came in and presented us with two options. After getting another nerve blocker higher up in the leg she was able to get relief. We soon left and made the drive back to Emporia, where we discovered that the ice machine they sent with her was not working and hadn't been working all day. When the Surgery center was called the nurse said she was unable to do anything. My daughter called back the next morning to be told we would have to bring the machine back and that would not do anything to help. No one said they were sorry that this happened and were rude about the whole escapade. I cannot recommend this facility, which saddens me as we have always had good care before, but not this time.
