On February 18, 2024 my daughter and I visited this business. She completed five pieces of art which I have photos of and we checked out. We were told that the products would be mailed out in 2 to 3 weeks. I insisted that they write my address down as well as my phone number because I lived out of state. The transaction was between $125 and $130. I used an ******** ******* credit card. I tried to call several times and the phone was never answered. I reached out via ******** ********* a number of times:

In December of 2023 my children and I painted 4 items at this shop. The items were to be glazed and fired in a kiln by The Paint’n Place. We were told that they were a little behind, so pickup would likely be 3-4 weeks. We paid for our items at that time. I have contacted the business regularly since February 2024 about getting my items. No one ever picks up the phone and the business is often closed, when it is during their normal hours. In March of 2024 we were given 3 of the 4 items. The other has still not been returned to us. I cannot get an answer about when or if it will be completed. We were there on 3/8/2024. We spent $80.56. The girl lied to us and told us it would be 3-4 weeks instead of the truth that their kiln had been down since supposedly October and again in December. They continue to take money from customers and are not returning the items paid for. Not only are they not returning the item, they are not answering phone calls, texts, or returning messages on their business chat. I reached out on 5/22 and they messaged saying they would check and have the studio call me…no one ever called me. The one time I did get an employee on the phone they advised they can’t even find my pieces! I reached out again today and they read the messages but did not respond (it shows read receipts on messenger).I either want my items done and returned to me within a week from today or I want a full refund of my money, $80.56. There are SEVERAL others dealing with the same issue and it’s as simple as going to their business page and reading the reviews. At this point this is a scam, you are paying for an item you never receive and they aren’t answering during business hours. How are you supposed to “make it right” if no calls, texts, or doors are answered. Once again, I either want my pieces back within a week from tomorrow which is June 6th, or I want my money back.Initial Complaint

My daughter and I visited The Paint n' Place on March 16,2024. Painted our pottery and filled out form to describe items and paid approx. $60 for our items. I was told the items would be ready in 2-4 weeks. I have called to check on items, I have physically stopped in to check on items and when I went by the business I was told it would be 2-4 months because they were behind. We were never told this prior to painting or purchasing our items. I have also reached out and left reviews on their ******** page and no response. On September 23, 2023, we went to the paint’s place and paid to paint items. They were left there to be finished and fired in a kiln and they were supposed to call us to let us know when they were done. January 5th, we reached out and found out that their kiln had broken and they had just repaired it and our pieces would be done next. We have made multiple attempts to speak to them both by phone and text to retrieve the items that we paid for and requested a refund and we have not been able to receive the items or the refund, just promises to that our pieces will be next.Initial Complaint

My son, husband and I came in December 2023 to do some ornaments and a plate for Christmas. When we came, we were not informed that their kiln was down. They said that they were backed up because of the holidays which naturally made sense to us. It is now almost June, and I still have not received any of my items. I went into the store two weeks ago, and was told the ornaments were ready, but they were still waiting on the plate. The plate itself was a custom job, and I had to share with the employee the design I was wanting, because the employee informed me the owner was refusing to show her my design. I find this extremely unprofessional on the owners behalf that she was not communicating a custom design with her own employee.
I called back again today, And was told they now can’t find the ornaments, or the plate. The employee I spoke with quite literally said “everything is thrown around all over the place.” I understand this is a small business, but this is quite frankly unacceptable. It’s discouraging, and I don’t know at this point if I will even receive my items back, I would never recommend this place. I’m shocked they’re still in business.
I have only had success with one employee, but she doesn’t work every day, so it makes it hard, especially when it sounds like there is miscommunication within the business.Initial Complaint

Went to place of business on 10/04/2023 for a work team building exercise. Paid $144.00 for our crafts. Over a month went by and we did not hear from the business. I reached out for an update on our order that was only supposed to take 10 days. The owner said their kiln was broken and it would take time to finish the order. It has now been four months, their kiln is fixed and we still have not received our order, no update, no refund. We either want a refund or to finish the order if the pieces are even existing anymore.Business Response

We are very sorry that this customer is upset with our business. In October, our kiln, which is what fires the pieces that people paint, went down. We attempted to have it fixed on four different occasions. Each repairman promised to fix it With the part that they put on and three of the four did not work finally in January, we found someone who could actually repair the kiln. That is When we began to attempt to catch up on all of the past orders. We advised everyone who painted that our kiln was broken and then it was going to take extra time to return orders. We have been loading and unloading our kiln every day as fast as possible. However, we are at the mercy of time as the kiln Runs for approximately 10 hours, and then has to cool down before we can unload it. We are attempting to load the orders in the date order that they were painted/received. No orders have been lost, broken, etc. and all items will be returned to the customer We are truly sorry that this process has taken this long, but it was out of our control.

I am rejecting this response because my team have literally waited since October for our pieces and the kiln has been fixed for almost three months and no update to when our order will be ready. Also, if they keep accepting new business before having the pieces that are late being completed. I just find this to be very poor business and I either want a real date of pick up or a refund. Period.

I’m sorry that she rejects my answer. I will be happy to give her her money back and when I go to the studio today, I will look to see which pieces are ready and which are not to attempt to fulfill her order first, that is the best that I can do, we have been completely honest with our customers that have continued to patronize our business letting them know it could be more than a month before they get their pieces back. I am rejecting this response because:I only reject if our pieces cannot be finished within next week. If they can't, a refund needs to be issued. I need to be messaged and given an actual date to pick up the pieces. We have waited 6 months already so obviously it's taking longer than a month for pieces to get done or you are only picking and choosing which to finish.
