    Spring 2018
    Driveway $8500
Pock marks all over the driveway
I’ve contacted Chris Hollon twice with no resolution . He said it is normal. We do not use salt on the driveway to melt snow.
I’ve attached a few pictures of a few of the pock marks/holes. There are a lot more.
    It is a not normal.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/27/2023

The driveway was completed 4 years and 9 months ago. 2 years after the driveway was built, I was contacted by the client to help her figure out a water leak in her home, which we assisted with though it is not under our scope of work we usually do, as it is more of a handyman project. Regardless, I made it a point to assist her with the additional request as it is directly in line with the standard of care Hollon Construction allows aims to uphold for past, current, and future clients.

The "pockmarks" in the clients 5-year old driveway are normal aggregate sediment movement that occurs due to moisture expansion as the result of rain/snow, turning into ice and expanding, microscopically eroding man-made structures (think a pot-hole in a road.) Considering the driveway has been through four winters, it seems to me (and other professionals I have spoken to) that the driveway has withstood the elements quite well. I am disheartened at the nature of this complaint, as we went out of our way many times for the client even when the projects didn't necessarily stand to warrant any money. The driveway was installed in line with our standards for excellence. Further, there is nothing structurally wrong with the driveway and (save the purely cosmetic, natural, small "marks) has withstood 4 years and 9 months of elements and wear very well.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

i disagree. I had another concrete company look at the driveway and they agreed

the driveway should not have all the pock marks. They agree with me that the concrete was either mixed improperly or a

    lower grade concrete was used.

As for the water issue, it was not a favor by the company to look at the problem . I did not file a complaint about the water issue so that should not even part of my complaint. I’m not getting bro a discussion about that . Hollon Construction did us no favors when looking into the water leak.

If this goes no further with the BBB, I will file a complaint in small claims court.

I told Chis Hollon I was not satisfied with his response prior to filing this complaint and advised him I would take the next step.
