      I had an issue with no hot water. I had **** ****** come out to my home to check the Water Heater. **** stated the the pilot will not light. We called our warranty company and they chose Smith Mechanical Company for services. The company person came and the first thing he stated was I don't like how this is setup??? He said the person who install your water heater did it all wrong. He spent all of 10 minutes telling us everything he didn't like the work of the setup of my water heater. Never did the Smith Mechanical service guy touched my water heater. We explain to him that **** stated the pilot will not light. Smith Mechanical service guy never touch or examined/checked my water heater. But he did take pictures of my setup. Told me the whole system needs to be replace because he THOUGHT it may be the gas valve. So with the gas valve being so expensive my warranty company is probably just going to replace the whole unit. Well of course my warranty company agreed due to Smith Mechanical service person Professional guessing opinion. My out of pocket cost for this whole water heater replacement is $1200 with a warranty. So I called another company to come and check my water heater. The service person from the other company touched and examine/checked my water heater. Their discovery not a guess, was the filter for the water heater was clogged up and dirty. Vacuuming was all that was needed for my water heater. I have HOT water now. Water Heater is working just fine. I need people to know that this company Smith Mechanical Company is running a scam on people. There was nothing wrong with my system other that a clogged filter. But they was trying to get $1200 out of me for a new system in which I didn't need.

      First of all, This "person" called a WARRANTY company for a SERVICE ISSUE.   The water heater was FILTHY and had other issues due to LACK OF MAINTENANCE.   The warranty company DOES NOT COVER issues due to LACK OF MAINTENANCE.  That being said, the GAS LINE to the water heater was IMPROPERLY INSTALLED with Galvanized piping.   In the Future  We suggest that you call a MAINTENANCE company RATHER THAN a warranty company.

      AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had a terrible experience with Smith Mechanical Company. They were sent to inspect a sink faucet leak through my home warranty company. They looked at the sink for less than 10 minutes and deemed the leak was an issue with the dishwasher hose and made a note in the report submitted to the home warranty company as "dishwasher hose not installed correctly". We had a dishwasher repairman sent out later that week. He did a much more diligent review and inspection and ran 2 drain cycles on the dishwasher and confirmed with me watching that the dishwasher hose or any dishwasher components were NOT the source of the leak. He showed me the leak coming from the faucet itself.My home warranty company will not re-send out a service provider to fix the faucet leak because of Smith Mechanical's note about the dishwasher hose. I called Smith Mechanical to politely let them know that in the future they should not write down statements like "dishwasher hose not installed correctly" without properly confirming this, because that note caused me to waste $275 and still have a leaking faucet. When I tried to provide that feedback the Smith Mechanical employee hung up on me. I will never work with this company again and will never advise this company to anyone.

      Our company did NO work for this customer. We were hired through a WARRANTY company (CINCH) to DIAGNOSE the so-called " LEAK" issue. The CUSTOMER ADMITTED that they attempted to "RENOVATE" their kitchen by themselves. They subsequently noticed a "LEAK" and then conviently called upon their warranty company (CINCH) to FIX an issue that THEY had created in the first place. Warranty companies FIX items that are damaged due to NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. NOT IMPROPER INSTALL. The homeowner REALLY needs to read their contract, or simply HIRE a licensed professional to do their work....

      Once again. This is NOT our customer. This person filed an order with a HOME WARRANTY company. Our job was to DIAGNOSE the issue. WE DID NO WORK..... The homeowner had a HACK install the faucet, and the faucet leaked. So the homeowner convienently call ***** home services to BAIL THEM OUT. ***** subsequently DENIED their claim so the homeowner of course childishly lashes out at our company. Totally baseless.
