Horrible. They charged me $1562 to remove an approx 80lb limb from my shed. I could have paid $2000 to have a whole tree removed. They did not answer my questions about what felt like predatory practices - 1) I communicated I was new to filing claims, 2) why they did not explain their fees, explained I not ins company would be responsible for fees, or let me review an invoice beforehand or 3) answer my questions about why they took my personal firewood. I want to pay a reasonable fee.

Receiving this complaint was a shock to our company as we and their insurance company have explained everything to the ***** via email, phone and text. The ***** still have not paid our company for the work completed, but has received the money from their insurance company. The ***** contacted their insurance company stating they needed a tree removed from their shed, their adjuster asked if they wanted to use the preferred program (contractor connection), they stated yes, which is when the assignment was sent to our company. We called and spoke to Misty ***** (since the claim is in her name), asking her if she wanted us to removed the tree, which she stated yes, and please watch the chickens out back while you are there. The ***** adjuster wrote the estimate, which is what we invoiced the ***** for. When sending a past due balance to the *****, as well as follow up calls and text, that is when Mr. ***** finally reached out stating his insurance company is "crooked", and doesn't feel that he should have to pay to take a "tiny limb" off the shed. Which the pictures show it was not a "tiny limb."  Mr. ***** adjuster explained everything to Mr. ***** multiple times through emails, which I will copy one below. Once again the ***** have been paid for the removal of the tree, and has not paid our company Professional Properties for the work that was completed. Below is one of many emails exchanges between Mr ***** and his insurance company, this email is from Mr. ***** adjuster who works for his insurance company:

"I have contacted the contractor connection contractor J. C****** who removed the tree from your shed and discussed the removal of the shed with them. They agreed they could remove the shed from the premises for a cost of $422.11 which includes the $181.88 removal cost in my original estimate along with $240.23 for the dump truck fee to hail the debris to a waste site. I have issued an additional payment today to you for the $240.23 and you will receive the check in the mail in 7-10 business days. I have attached the revised estimate and payment letter here for your records.

You can contact Taylor at J. C****** to schedule the work with them or you may use your own contractor to perform the work.

You are not being held responsible for cost above your deductible. The depreciation $485.50 will be sent to you once you have provided the receipt to show the shed has been replaced.

      Total Cost $3490.08
Depreciation you get back once shed is replaced $485.50
      $2500 (Deductible)
= $504.58 (amount paid by insurance)
You received 2 payments of $264.35 and $240.23 totalling the $504.58 which means you are only out the deductible of $2500 once you provide me the receipt to show the shed has been replaced as I will then issue the final payment of $485.50.

I have also attached the section of your policy Conditions where it states any claim over $2500.00 will have depreciation and that you have 180 days to notify us of your intent to make a claim for the depreciation.

      You have been paid $504.58
      Depreciation: $485.50
      Total- $990.08
      Deductible: $2500.00
      Total Claim: $3490.08"

The ***** were explained everything countless times, I have many other emails that shows where was explained everything. Mr. ***** was also in the process of filing a complaint to the Ohio Department of Insurance against his insurance company. He cc'd our company and his adjuster on that email, I am not sure what the status of that complaint is. Please let me know if you need any pictures or additional emails. Thank you!

Per homeowner request, she had asked we hold off on finishing the job because COVID started, so we did. We have not heard from homeowner until a few weeks ago when she walked into our office. She spoke to the estimate and he told her he would have to look everything up as it as been so long. This comment surprises us since the estimator told her he would get back to her, but it would take time. While the job was still going on we were waiting on homeowner to pick out the floor that she wanted, but did not hear back. We would be more than happy to complete the job but has stated to her, the estimator would look at everything and get back to her, but it seems we still need answers from her.
