Around 11/15 I got notified by the ****** App that my credit score dropped by more than 10 points on all 3 credit bureaus due to a late payment on one of my accounts. I have had a 100% on time payment history for over 5 years and always pay my debts on time. Upon further investigation I discovered that A Debt Coach, who I hired in 2018 to manage my debts misapplied my auto-drafted funds in October of 2022 and did not pay *********, one of my debtors, and ********* reported me to the credit bureaus as paying over 30 days late. I was not emailed, called, sent a letter in the mail, or notified in any way by ********* because A Debt Coach is the one hired to manage my accounts. When I called A Debt Coach, they denied it was their fault and went as far as telling me it was up to me to manage the balances on all my accounts. They told me it was all my fault that they missed the payment, and it was because I didn't update them about my accounts. I went to the fine print in the statements they sent me to prove that it says that "should the estimated balances not match your current statements from your creditors, please FEEL FREE TO UPDATE US!" It says feel free to update us, meaning they acknowledge it's on them to be on top of it!!!! They still have not gotten this resolved with *********. My credit report still has the late payment on it from their mistake! I paid my bill on time. I paid A Debt Coach. ON TIME! A Debt Coach failed to make the timely payment. And now my credit is being damaged. Also, when I initially called A Debt Coach about it, they told me that "this late payment wasn't a big deal, and it wouldn't hurt my credit that much so I shouldn't worry about it." If I were an uneducated consumer, can you imagine the kind of damage that would do to my credit in the long term? This credit counseling company should not be allowed to operate telling people that kind of thing just to cover their own mistakes. They certainly don't care about the consumer at all.

    To whom it may concern,
****** & ******** ******* joined A Debt Coach Credit Counseling Service in December 2018. At this
time we took over paying their Credit Cards debts. The client were set up on auto draft and never missed a payment to A Debt Coach Credit Counseling Service (ADC). The plan worked smoothly for 5 years as the ******* saved thousands in interest alone. All credit card were shut down when entering the program. This does have an effect on their credit rating in the beginning but the score increases back over time, as the balances drop.
A Debt Coach Credit Counseling Service requires our client to submit monthly statement from their creditors to match up the balance we have listed into our system. Clients are constantly reminding to submit their statements via our message during any call to ADC and this request in included in our agreement. Clients have access to their program via the internet and monthly statements we send them. It is very important ADC has records to update balances as we get closer to the payoff dates.
Since the *******s never submitted their monthly statements as requested. It becomes harder to make
sure our remaining balances are correct. So according to our system, ****** *** Bank were paid in full in October 2022. Evidently there was small remaining balance on ****** *** Bank and we missed the November payment that the client did not inform us about. Again, Clients are required to manage their debts and inform us of any discrepancies or difference in the balance listed on the plan and their monthly statement. This allowed the ****** *** Bank account to go 30 days late. Once this happens, ADC cannot remove or change any records to their credit report. Which the client wants us to do and this has led to this BBB Complaint.
After reading the complaint, I want to address a few false acquisitions listed from ******** *******. You have a 30 day late on your credit report. This did not destroy your credit rating. Score may have dropped a few points but it will clear itself up over time.
******** ******* Quote: If I were an uneducated consumer, can you imagine the kind of damage this would do to my credit in the long term? This is slander. For over 30 years now A Debt Coach Credit Counseling has taking pride in educating the public on the credit industry. Budget Boot camp, Parent

To sum this complaint up, The ******* chose not to send ADC or update ADC of the remaining balances. This created a remaining balance on ****** *** Bank account after our records showed it as
paid in full. This created the delinquently and we have solved it as best we can. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at ###-###-#### Ext 4
