I am rejecting this response because:

This statement below is a complete lie.  There was no discussion of risks, or alternatives prior to treating and if the doctor did explain the "risks" why would I stop him in the middle of the procedure to ask if it would scab.  Wouldn't that be a risk.  Also, no money or cost were discussed as when I looked at my bill in the mail, it said it was for 12 lesions.  Hmm, well, I certainly had more than 2, that was only on my face.  I have them on neck and under arms.  So twice I had this procedure and no one explained that I could have 11 more.  Wow, they really explained everything to me. Furthermore, I just got a notice from a collection company for 2x the amount.  I already paid for one of the procedures, now they are trying to have me pay double for the second visit.

As per our standard protocol, we obtained verbal consent after a discussion of risks, benefits and alternatives to treatment prior to treating her lesions.  In the middle of treatment, she abruptly asked for a delay in treatment. Our doctor stopped treatment, discussed management and the patient was rescheduled for a different date.
    Sincerely,

    *********************************

s a cost discussed with me. I had one procedure that took two visits to complete and now trying to bill me for two procedures.Very short sided on their end. You lost a customer (who by the way does a lot of visits with a skin doctor each year). I hope 112 bucks you are trying to bill me is worth the 10's of thousands of dollars you could bill my insurance for my condition.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/05/2024

To Whom It May ****************** saw this patient in our office for a skin check.  She had several skin conditions she requested be examined and managed by our doctor.  Our doctor discussed the treatment plan with the patient with a medical assistant present at all times.

When the patient returned, our doctor treated the patient as she requested.  This was again after our standard protocol of verbal consent after discussions of risks, benefits, and alternatives to treatment.  Treatment was tolerated well and management was discussed.  Patient was scheduled for follow up.

As an office, the encounters have been billed appropriately per insurance/CMS requirements.  We have communicated promptly and clearly with the patient via statements, phone calls and encounters in the office.

We strive for transparency and great customer service.  We have gone to every effort to educate and inform along the treatment process.

    Sincerely,

    Kentucky Skin Cancer Center
