      ** prepared my taxes but all she did was literally enter the data I provided to her into a different version of intuit software. I wasnt aware of this until I viewed a zoom meeting that shed recorded explaining how prepared my taxes. After viewing the video, I knew that JCs skill level was not that of an expert and I decided that I would just lose out on the $450 that Id invested in this company and continue to prepare my own taxes which were no where near complex. On April 15, 2023, I asked ** to NOT file my taxes and she replied to me stating that she understood my request. She offered to file only an extension on my behalf, however, she needed me to electronically sign tax form **** so that she could e-file the extension for me.Since then, Id heard nothing from them. Not even confirmation that the extension was filed. Fast forwardwhen I attempted to file my taxes on 10/16 it was rejected, reason being, my taxes have already been filed. I reached out to JC and two other individuals whod been ccd on most of our correspondences, but never introduced themselves (******** and *********************) to inquire about the discrepancy.******** did give me a call and let me know that JC was no longer with this company and she (********) had indeed, filed my taxes on October 10 and October 11. What makes it even worse is that they filed a DC tax return and Im not even a DC resident. The combined amount that they had me owing to the IRS/DC was almost $15,000. I must say that ******** was very apologetic and exceptionally nice, but unfortunately, this causes an undue stress and burden on me and my family. I immediately asked for a refund of my $450 fee that was charged upfront, before services were even rendered to which she obliged. It should also be noted that ******** attempted to remedy the situation by filing amendments, but my confidence in AlphaMark had already been lost so I respectfully declined this offer.
