I am so outraged at what just happened. I recently made a purchase there and on this purchase we used an EBT card and six dollars in cash. It was already very late they were fixing to close. The total transaction came up to $43 and change but I had to use six dollars cash and pay the rest on an EBT card. The cashier failed to put the info in correctly and it charged the EBT card the six dollars and then the remaining balance as well. The balance was paid, but they kept the six dollars and when I reported it they refused to give me the six dollars back even though it was rightfully mine telling me she was only five dollars over that is all she could give me. Mind you my purchase was paid for. I should have gotten the full six dollars back. Not to mention we were treated poorly when we reported this. That money was rightfully ours. They had no rights whatsoever, keeping it even if it was only a dollar it’s about principal. They have several hidden fees when you go through their check out and no one ever says anything but I’m tired of the working class having to suffer because of businesses and their greed. The workers there are highly unprofessional and very rude. Not one of them are easy to work with. Normally I wouldn’t bother making a report but this has happened multiple times there. Not the same exact situation but the fact I had all of my receipts, and could show where they charged the EBT card and actually owed me back six dollars. It’s very unprofessional and unconstitutional.

    To whom it may concern:

We were made aware of this instance the day after it occurred. A woman came in to our store around 8pm on the night of July 17th, 2024 stating that she did not receive the correct amount of change that she was owed from the previous night when she was in the store shopping. The protocol that we have in place states that any complaint made by a customer/employee/vendor is to be taken seriously and treated promptly. The night manager on duty then called the office manager ******** *******) and was indeed informed that the office total (which is counted 3 times a day) was indeed off by 5 dollars. The night manager was then told to give the female customer back the five dollars that the office was over and the female customer seemed content with this resolution and proceeded to leave peacefully.  Here at Big O's Cash Saver we take extreme pride in our customer care and we take any and all complaints very seriously. The cashier in question was indeed newly hired and had just completed training and this was her first night closing without another cashier standing beside her although she was not the only cashier on the floor. She has been re-trained on the correct method of handling duel methods of payment in a single transaction. We are a cost plus 10% establishment and we have multitudes of signs and documentation stating this all throughout our store and always encourage customers  to ask if they have any questions. Based on our calculations we do still owe this customer a dollar and they are free to pick it up anytime that is convenient for them.
