On 4/28/2022 we purchased a complete solar system from Mann Solar for $5,122.45. After installment we made several calls to ******, at Mann Solar reporting fans in the inverter/charger were running continuously. I was told by ****** it was probably the thermostat but should not be a concern. He said if the fans stopped working, he could find cheap replacement fans on ******. On or about 4/22/2024 the charger/inverter unit stopped working. Default code in LED unit showed F-11. We contacted ****** at Mann Solar to report failure of unit. We were told to remove the inverter/charger unit and bring to Mann Solar. We removed the unit and it was taken to ******. He opened the unit and examined it. We were told the charge unit was out. He said he could not replace the unit. Stated he had purchased the unit with manufacture warranty only and could no longer reach them. He felt they had gone out of business. That he only sold the units and could not replace them.
We were told by ****** that we could bypass the issue by purchasing a new solar charge controller and PV DC isolator switch. We purchased these items on 5/11/2023 for $491.84. With instructions from ****** we installed the PV DC isolator switch, controller unit and reinstalled the inverter/charger unit and recharged all six batteries. The unit continues to fail, showing code F-11 and shutting down. We again contacted ******, sending pictures and video of entire unit including battery pack, new PV DC switch, charge controller along with the inverter/charger unit while it was in default. ****** continues to evade responsibility. Please assist. Thank You

Mann Solar strives to help each and every client that walks through our doors to the best of our ability.  In the case of *** ******* he purchased equipment from us and installed the equipment himself after utilizing our consulting services, which he was only billed 1 hour for along with approximately 8 hours of free consulting.  *** ******* after purchasing materials from us installed everything himself. After a few months a fan malfunctioned on an inverter he purchased from us.  *** ****** requested for us to contact the Manufacturer, which we did and had come to find it had gone out of business.  *** ******** equipment continued to work with the malfunctioning fan for another year before going out on him completely.  Mann Solar then gave *** ****** two recommendations, of which *** ****** chose one, which was to bypass the built-in charge controller that the fan was for inside the inverter and use an external charge controller. After *** ****** installed the new charge controller, we were notified by *** ****** that neither the new charge controller nor the inverter unit was working.  We then requested pictures from *** ****** to help him diagnose the issue.  *** ****** sent us some pictures and video via text, but they were not fully what we needed, so we requested that he either send us the pictures needed or upload the videos he texted us to a cloud server so that we could see them in full quality and hopefully help him from there.  *** ****** refused to do so and told Mann Solar that he needed us to come out and fix it no charge or he would hire another company and bill us to do so.  We then notified him that this is not our policy on jobs installed by the customer.  We offered to come out to fix his system for the cost of a tech's service call and hourly rate, to which *** ****** refused.  We would like to help *** ****** if he is willing to pay Mann Solar for its time to do so.  We thank *** ****** for his business and hope we can come to a good resolution.

At the end of June 2022 we signed a contract with Mann Solar. On 7/26, 7/27, 7/29-8/3 the solar panel installers came to our house to install the panels, except for 7/31 & 8/2 when they scheduled to come but did not show. On 8/11 the electrician came to our house to install the electrical boxes outside, but could not finish his work because they did not finish running the lines. We contacted Mann Solar about this twice. An installer came in the middle of September to finish the install and found some work was not done correctly when the panels were installed and that one of the panels was significantly scratched and needed replacement. After submitting complaints to the loan company, on 10/6 & 10/13 an installer came back and partially fixed some of the work. We contacted them several times and on 10/25 we texted **** at Mann Solar and said to either fix the install or take the whole system out of our house. On 10/29 installers came. 11/10 saw them coming back out to fix the system again and the inspector decided to show up as well because he knew how much trouble we had been having. The inspector to the Mann Solar people they could not do what they were doing without a licensed electrician present and they left in a hurry. On 11/18, they came out with a licensed electrician and finished everything. The city inspector came back out on 11/23 to do the formal inspection and it failed. A subcontracted electrician came out 11/30 and fixed everything. The city inspector came out 12/7, after waiting for Mann Solar to email him structural plans saying the roof could support the weight of the panels. The electric company came out 12/9 to connect the solar system to the grid. We texted them wanting to know when they were sending someone out to patch the drywall they cut a big hole in under the breaker box. They texted us back saying they didn’t know the inspection happened (we think is a lie) and said they could get someone out the next week. It is now January and nothing.

Drywall has been repaired and system is running, inspection has occurred.  Please let us know what else you need.  I have heard nothing from the client so I assumed they were happy until I read this.

Our lines are open if you need anything.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We have had to contact them every step of the way and it still took them forever to do. I left this complaint weeks ago and Mann Solar is just now looking at this complaint, ridiculous. They did the worst drywall work I have seen, I can see the outline of the entire piece and they affixed what looks like a piece of plastic over the drywall where LB joint is with screws that only barely hold it in. That is probably because they did not have an actual drywall person come and do it .

I am glad I will never have to deal with Mann Solar again!

    Sincerely,

On 6/11/2022 we signed the paperwork to get solar panels installed on our house. The first date was set for 7/08/2022, the day came and went with no one showing up. I called the guy I was in contact with to see what the deal was. He informed me another man told him he called me and I said the date didn’t work. That phone call never happened, no one ever contacted me and I didn’t say it wouldn’t work. I was on vacation that day and was home waiting all day for them. On August 15th I hand a phone call with a guy who told me that they would then be installed on August 27th and if I didn’t hear anything else from him then it would be done that day. The 27th came and went, I gave it a few days to see if someone would reach out and let us know what was going on and no one did. I then texted the guy I had been in contact with for the majority of the time, Pat Stricklin, he tells me that now they’re waiting on equipment. While talking to him he said the reason for the original delay was because they needed to redo our utility approvals. Which is not the reason they gave us initially. This back and forth goes on for months. Constant excuses and no communication, all the while being told if we cancel then we’d be on the hook for $1,500+ for the cancellation. I have all the texts and emails to prove every conversation we’ve had besides 1 phone call on July 8th and another a few months later with someone named Justin who told me it would be done before our loan application had expired. It wasn’t and then they got an extension for it and didn’t make the deadline for that either. I’ve talked to 5 separate people and every time there is a new excuse and we refuse to apply for a new loan with a higher rate because this company is incompetent.

This is the company hired to install my system and did not, according to the state inspector, follow the state rules and regulations for the installation and my system has still not been completely installed. It’s now October 24, 2022 The system was supposed to be installed by May 17th, 2022.

Both the installation company and the Solar company have been saying for months that they are “working on a resolution”. But nothing has been done.

In March 2022 we decided to have solar panels installed on the roof of our house. In order to do so, the roof itself and the old gutters had to be replaced. We reached a deal with Mann Solar for all the works to be completed under their supervision and management. Included in the deal was also the replacement/construction of new siding on the only (short) side of the house where we have it. During the initial stage of the job, they opened up the lower part of the siding, where it connects with the roof of the garage and applied some flimsy flashing. And that was it. After more than 3months, the siding job has not been yet done. We are worried about the heavy rains causing damage to the exposed part of the siding, possibly costing us a lot in repairs. Also, the situation is creating a lot of emotional and mental stress to us, because we have 2 small daughters (6 and 1) and the contractors has left a lot of roofing building material in front of our garage and along the side of the house, together with a pile of trash. ,We have to constantly keep away from those dangerous materials and trash, fearing they could get hurt.
We have contacted Mann Solar in the person of **** *****, their representative with whom we signed the contract and the supposed supervisor of the jobs, multiple times, mainly via text messages. His replies have been sparser and sparser, clearly showing he is not interested in finding a solution. We have already started repaying the loan, he seems not to care.
Attached here you can find pictures dating from April 20th to today. nothing has changed.

After hearing of this complaint the materials that were left over from the previous contractor were promptly removed from the client’s home. Since then, we have been in contact with the client multiple times per week regarding the resolution to the siding issue. A new contractor has since been hired and has been in contact with the homeowner as well. The current status is that we are waiting for a finalized quote from the contractor for the replacement of the siding. Once we receive the quote we will coordinate a day and time for it to be completed.

I am rejecting this response because: This is the second time we complain for the same problem. While after thee first time it looked like Mann Solar was well intentioned in solving the problem, they have dropped the ball again. After removing the trash from the side of our house and the material left in front of our garage (which we have paid for; they told us they would give us some form of reimbursement, which never happened), they finally -after more than a month - sent somebody to work on our siding. Problem is the contractor they hired just took care of part of the flashing (not even all of it) instead of replacing the siding like it's written on the contract. So, part of our house is still exposed to the elements and winter is here. Also, we are still waiting to be reimbursed for the windows that one of their contractors broke. This is the last time we complain here. Next time it will be in a court of law.

    Sincerely,
