We purchased a bluetooth stereo and backup camera for my daughter for Christmas. We drove home after the installation and noticed the backup camera was installed upside down, the check engine light had come on and the stereo moved in place when you pressed the buttons on the screen. I called Ken and he said he would fix the backup camera and adjust the radio. He said the check engine light had nothing to do with his installation, but he'd clear the code. I brought the car back and Ken was extremely testy with me. He was like a completely different person than the man I purchased the stereo from. Anyway, everything was fixed and we thought we were good. Fast forward less than 2 months later...my daughter's car was acting funny when stopped at a light so she turned the car off and tried to turn it back on. It would not restart so we had to have it towed to the dealership. We've been working with Kerry Toyota over the last month to have, what has turned out to be numerous issues, diagnosed. The ECM computer was bad and the combo meter was not working. Kerry replaced both of these but noticed one of the stereo speakers wasn't working. It turns out the stereo, the ECM computer and the combo meter are all connected and work off of the same wires. Toyota asked if the bluetooth stereo was a recent addition. When I said yes they said that’s what we figured. They realized in diagnosing the computer and combo meter issues that the bluetooth stereo was not hooked up properly. They said what should have been a simple stereo installation was somehow completely messed up by whatever Ken did with the stereo wiring, and this impacted the ECM computer and combo meter as a result. Kerry had to completely un-install and rewire the entire radio, manually running new wires to all of the doors so the speakers could work again. What should have been a $650 stereo and backup camera ended up leading to a $2,900 repair bill from Kerry Toyota + $120 towing fee.

A simple radio install has nothing to do with the ECU computer on that vehicle. It is a 2008 model Toyota RAV4... That vehicle had a bad facfory amplifier tha needed to get bypass which we did at no additional cost. Again, the radio wiriig has NOTHING to do with the ECU module. Ive been in business for 28 years i havve never had anyone blame a radio forma bad computer (ECU) Module. This is completely false
