In 2021 I hired USS to install a french drain and 3 pop up drains at my house. This summer (2024) one of the pop up drains began backflowing rainwater. I had the drain cleaned out but it continued to backflow with rain water gushing at the foundation of the house, exactly what I was trying to avoid. I discovered there are tree roots growing in the pipe near the pop-up emitter. Unfortunately, it appears USS installed a section of perforated PVC pipe in this drain and this was done in a location near a large tree. I called USS to explain the issue and that I would like them to assess the problem. The drains had a 1 year warranty so they only offered to come out for a service call or maintenance call priced at $125-250. I do not believe USS is standing by their workmanship. I want USS to remedy the situation as they should not have installed perforated drain pipe near a large, growing tree.

The contracted work is not under warranty. Perforated tile was used at the end of the discharge, as shown in the schematics. However, the drain should not be terminated at a tree. We are sending a tech to resolve the discharge. I believe this was just a miscommunication with our service department. I hope to have it resolved soon. I do apologize for any inconvenience.
