Our insurance policy was due to cancel on a certain date. I paid the premium in full and they canceled my insurance the next day. I paid 2 months premium and was only due 1 months. They never gave me a refund for the month of service that they did not provide. They also took out another lump sum feom my account. I tried talking to the people and they literally told me they could not help my issue. All the way up to the supervisor. They stole my money

      Business Response

      Date: 11/02/2023

Kentucky National Insurance Company (“KNIC”) disagrees with the assertion made by
Ms. ******* that “They stole my money”.
Ms. ******* had an automobile policy with KNIC that had a renewal date of May 2, 2023.
At the time that this renewal policy was created and mailed to Ms. ******* a schedule of
payments to be made by Electronic Funds Transfer (“EFT”) was included, a copy of which
is attached as ******* EFT Schedule – Original.
Prior to the effective date of the policy Ms. ******* added an additional vehicle to the
policy, increasing the premium for the period by $190.82. At this time a revised schedule
of payments was sent to Ms. ******* a copy of which is attached as ******* EFT Schedule
      – Endorsement 1. This schedule shows an amount of $441.83 due on the policy renewal
date. This payment was received and the renewal became effective.
On June 14, 2023 an additional endorsement was made to the policy adding a fifth vehicle
to the policy increasing the total premium due for the policy period by an additional
$152.79. A revised schedule of payments was sent to Ms. *******, a copy of which is
attached as ******* EFT Schedule – Endorsement 2. This revised schedule has a
payment in the amount of $475.39 due on June 15, 2023. When KNIC attempted to
collect the $475.39 due on June 15, 2023 we were not able to as there were insufficient
funds in the account. The payment was then reversed on our system since it was not
collected and the cancellation process began. On July 5, 2023 Ms. ******* was sent a
Legal Notice of Cancellation informing her that the policy would be cancelled if we did not
receive a payment in the amount of $500.39 by July 22, 2023. A copy of this notice is
      attached as ******* LNOC.
On July 15, 2023 Ms. ******* made the requested payment of $500.40 via EFT, the
payment was made by the July 22, 2023 date so the policy is back in good standing.
Going back to the revised EFT schedule sent when the second endorsement was made
the third installment in the amount of $475.40 was also due on July 15, 2023. Had these
payments been made the policy would be fine; however, both the required payment of
$500.40 due by July 22, 2023 and the third installment of $475.40 due on July 15, 2023
were not collected due to insufficient funds in Ms. *******’ account.
We now have a total of $975.78 ($500.40 due for the 2nd installment plus $475.39 due for
the 3rd installment due by July 22, 2023 or the policy will cancel. On July 21, 2023 Ms.
******* makes a payment in the amount of $500.40 by credit card, this amount is accepted
as settlement of scheduled payment number two plus the $25 NSF fee charged for the
return. However, there is still the 3rd payment that was due on July 15, 2023 that was not
received because of insufficient funds outstanding, and as a result the policy cancelled at
      12:01 a.m. on July 22, 2023.
All of the activity described above can be seen and followed in the attached ******* *************-02 Transaction History document. If you look at the transaction detail you will
see that from May 2, 2023 to July 22, 2023 KNIC only received $942.23 of good money
from Ms. ******* (these are transactions numbers 3 and 16 on the Transaction History
      document).
Not only did KNIC not steal from Ms. *******, at the time that the policy cancelled KNIC
was actually owed an additional $346.95 for coverage provided from May 2, 2023 through
July 21, 2023 for Ms. *******’ vehicles. A bill for this amount was sent to Ms. *******, a
copy of this bill is attached as ******* Earned Premium Bill. To date this amount has not
      been paid by Ms. *******.
