    Below are the major issues I encountered when using College Hunks. They failed to live up to several promises made during the on-site estimate, leading to a stressful and costly experience.

    1. Unprofessional and Incompetent Staff
    On packing day, one of the workers was visibly sick (vomiting) and unable to perform their duties. Despite being paid hourly, this employee contributed nothing.
    I was promised 4 workers for packing, but only 2 workers showed up. It took nearly 7 hours to complete the packing, well beyond the estimated 4 hours.
    2. Unapproved and Excessive Charges
    Without my approval, they used several wardrobe boxes at $20 each (compared to the standard $4 large boxes). This added hundreds of dollars to the bill unnecessarily.
    3. Understaffing and Delays on Moving Day
    Despite being promised 4 workers and a 6-hour move, only 2-3 workers showed up. The move ended up taking 15 hours, far exceeding the estimated time.
    They assured me they could complete the move with two trucks, but I had to rent a U-Haul myself, making two additional trips at my own expense, including gas and rental fees.
    4. Damaged Property & Insufficient Insurance
    5. Failure to Follow Through on Promises
    The company promised to reassemble my furniture at the new location, but none of it was reassembled, and all the hardware was lost. I had to purchase replacement parts at my own cost.
    On packing day, the workers didn’t even tape the boxes properly, leaving me (8 months pregnant) and my mother to finish the job.
    Communication with the Company:
    I contacted the franchise owner and the corporate office multiple times. While they offered a small discount on moving day, it didn’t even come close to covering the additional costs and time that the move took. I also requested reimbursement for the U-Haul rental and gas costs, but the franchise owner refused to reimburse me, despite the U-Haul being rented in the name of one of their employees.

    On August 31st 2022 I paid a $155 deposit to College Hunks moving junk to move 10 items or less to storage on 9/9/22. I was advised to cancel 5 days prior to the move date to be refunded. Later on 8/31/22, I rescheduled my appointment for 9/21/22. On 9/17/22 I canceled my appointment. I was told the $155 was for gas and time for the crew to come to my address. I was not told by me rescheduling I wouldn’t get my deposit back. I gave them plenty of time to reschedule their crew for that day, which is what the deposit was for.
