In September 2021, we signed a contract with Clore construction to tear down and rebuild our deck. We agreed upon 30k to be paid in four installments throughout the project. The work started in October 2021. As boards were being installed I expressed concern that the boards were not straight. I was told by ****** it would come together in the end. We were asked if we wanted a pet door and we said yes. In January 2022, they installed a door. It was not a pet door and it wasn’t designed to latch. It was not secure for weeks and continued to open and shut with any breeze. They found a door knob, but it wasn’t designed for the door. The door will not stay closed or latch. Our dog just has to barely put her nose on it and it will open. I have been keeping 40-50 lbs of weight plus two heavy porch chairs to keep it closed. We paid the balance in full in April 2022. Soon after they finished, i texted **** to let him know the screen would not seal and that the bottom of the steps was not acceptable. He sent someone over and they addressed my concerns. In the past six months, I noticed two boards that have popped up due to faulty installation. The door won’t latch and some of the plastic covering on the screen is bubbling up. I have contacted **** (the owner) numerous times since November to come and fix the issues. My solutions to this issue:
    1. Repair/Replace the current door with one that latches and locks and will withstand wind gusts and pressure.
    2. Fix the boards that are coming up as well as any that are sagging below.
    3. Fix the plastic trim around the screen that has bubbled up.

    RE: ********

    To Whom It May Concern,

I apologize for the late response to you but we have responded to *** ****** and satisfied her concern.

A completely new door was installed

    Screens repaired

All deck boards in question are fastened

My men left some materials there by mistake and we will be retrieving them this week

NOT in our scope of work is some water over-running a gutter. We volunteered to install a metal channel on the roof shingles to help divert that water more directly into the gutter. We are fabricating this piece and it should be installed this week (week of 05/01/23)

Any delay in completing this job was a sheer oversight and a heavy work load. For this we apologize. If you contact *** ****** she should report all requested items are corrected and we are in good standing.

Please contact me directly if there are issues I am not aware of

    Sincerely

    **** ****** *****
