Lack of accountability when they made mistakes in building my home. Also, they don't keep promise to pay transfer tax at closing. I strongly urge potential buyers to be extremely cautious when dealing with Ball Homes. Double- and triple-check every detail, and consider your options carefully before entering into a contract with them.

We have received this customer's feedback from other sources as well.  We more fully addressed the specifics of their statements with those sources (the complaint was closed by the agencies) but would note that the specs that the customer states were mistakes were items that were built as per their signed contract documents.  We have communicated this to them on more than one occasion prior to closing and again after closing, without gaining any acceptance on the part of the customer.  We previously extended an offer of conciliation regarding the transfer tax but were unfortunately unable to reach any mutual agreement or understanding. While we would certainly prefer to have been able to reach an appropriate resolution, the customer remains quite adamant about their views, as is their prerogative.

For the future Ball Homes owners….don’t go with this company!
I’ll keep it short and to the point; cheap materials, cheap labor, cheap results!
If you are looking for good finishing touches and detail work, this is not your home - not your construction company!
We were a few hours prior to closing and I expressed my concerns over a few details and finishes that showed cracks, dents, and needed painting or fixed. The rep for Ball Homes got upset and said that I don’t look happy with the result so I should not buy this house! She was right, I should have walked away and bought a better built house from another company! Ball Homes is not a reliable, not a trustworthy source for people to build their long term houses. Daily, I am afraid of who knows what problem I’ll discover in the house that I’ll have to get another handyman to fix it.

It's always helpful to hear how our customers view our process, and we're sorry to learn that the customer is experiencing regrets over the purchase. We hope that confidence is improving with time, as we have now addressed any items that were listed on the moving-in agreement from the walk-through and working to respond to any questions and needs as they arise during the warranty process.
All of our homes are built according to code and inspected multiple times at different stages and receive a certificate of occupancy from the local building authority that signifies their acceptability. They are further backed by the 2-10 Warranty, which reflects industry standards and sets performance expectations, defines deficiencies, and stipulates remedies. One of the purposes of the final walk-through is for the builder and the customer to review the home together just before closing and make a list of any items that do not meet standards or are incomplete, and those items (four in this case) are listed on a moving-in agreement so that it is mutually clear what will be addressed and how, after closing. By continuing to closing, the buyer accepts the general workmanship of the home. It is a very significant point in the process.
The customer, who did acknowledge at the final walk-through that she was very particular, expressed concerns at the time, primarily over the condition of the drywall in the home. It was clear to us that she was unhappy with the home.
While it is rare, occasionally a customer expresses such strong reservations about the home that they are about to accept ownership of, that we believe that it is better to have a frank conversation about whether the home is a good fit for that individual buyer's needs and personal standards. We would much prefer that the homeowner be happy and confident in their choice, and informed about their options, and we are sorry to hear that our response was perceived in the way described in the review. Again, we hope that the customer's experience improves over time, as we remain committed to appropriately addressing any concerns that may arise during the warranty period.
