In March, a tree was blown on top of an unattached garage causing roofing & framing damage. A written quote of $6K, dated March 23 was received. While reviewing the project with *******, General Mgr., I expressed concern with door alignment which ******* stated would be corrected when framing is completed. When questioned about warranty, he proudly replied he gives a Lifetime Warranty. We also discussed time to completion, roofing material & color to use. After satisfactory responses, I told him to proceed with the project.

On 4/21/23 an employee of the company (******) called stating she was in the area asked to stop by to collect a check. After reviewing the progress of the project, I handed her a check for $500 which she refused saying at this point she couldn't take my money & to wait until finished, agreeing the job was way off from completion and she will honor the initial quote.

On return, a worker did a poor job of leveling the roof after framing, leaving a deep “Dip” in the area of the initial damage, which I didn't notice due to filtered daylight through trees. However, I checked door alignment, & accepted the job as complete.

After several days a “Dip” in the roof line was noticed by a relative, mentioning “That will surely cause a problem later on”. (As confirmed by 5 different roofing companies).

The next day, I called the office of B & G Roofing and discussed the situation with ****** who said she will get ******* the check it out. That night ******* called my cell phone debating ANY problems, that he is with the BBB, has many years of experience & if I pay $300 for a roofing inspector, & if the inspector notices problems he will fix them. I replied the defect is evident & needs to be fixed. He said he would be by Monday. No Show! I called the office asking for a copy of the Warranty, to which she stated that ******* refuses to provide any repair or warranty. I said that I will have to take further action.

I request repair or cost to repair.

The initial job was to repair only  3 rafters and 3 ceiling joists, to install 4 sq of hardy board siding and place some concrete on the left side  (15 foot) and 3 sq foot roof repair on garage roof for $6000. This was accepted. I ended up framing 12 x7 wall and I finished the siding when he said to hold off on doing roof repair because he was waiting on insurance to approve the house for new roof and he could pick the same color for both. After a few weeks he said to move forward with the garage roof repair but to do the entire garage which added another 9 sq to the garage roof job and at this time I told him that it would be an additional $1500. He him self accepted the job as completed and is now blaming "flitered sun light" for him saying it was not done correctly. He still has not paid for that work. When another storm came through and a tree fell on the house I was there and applied a tarp and plywood and let him know that if i was going to do the roof for the house that would be included in price and if not that would be $1000 for all the work making sure house didn't leak after the tree fell on the roof. At this time he has not paid the balance due of $1500 for the original job and the added $1000 for the work to make sure house was not going to leak until he got a new roof. In his complaint he is complaining of a life warranty. Yes i provide a life warranty to my customers, when the bill has been paid in full, which he has failed to do so. He still has an outstanding balance of $2500 for labor and material cost. So this gentleman is not being completely honest with his statement of facts. Again he stated that he accepted the orginal job as completed, and had then had me come back out to do the tarping and placing plywood to the house roof after this, so doesn't make a lot of sense if he was unhappy with work why would I be there for the house roof after that storm had put a tree on the house roof.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I hired B&G to determine the requirements
and quote however much materials / labor were required. I am dismayed the company
complains they didn’t quote enough to complete the job correctly. As Ky law
requires matching Vs patching, I expected & instructed B&G to complete
the entire Garage roof. Furthermore, when discussed with the Office manager,
******, she stated she would honor the initial quote. So this disputes B&G’s
stated $1,500 balance due. When I handed ******* the quoted $6K check upon
acceptance, he DID NOT state the amount was inaccurate, cashing the check the
next business day. B&G’s response has dates, issues &
amounts inaccurate. The Garage job was NOT completed or accepted
until 4/28 while the damage to the house occurred 4/1 & “Tarping”
to the house occurred on 4/2. (Dates evidenced by Ins. report & date
    Check issued).
For the $1,000 “Tarp & Plywood” job
after a tree fell on the house, a few issues were left missing. When B&G
Manager later mentioned the $500 Tarping fee, I took him into the room under the tarped roof to show leaks &
floor puddles due to his unacceptable efforts. He made no
remark or ANY effort to correct. I would have paid if the job was completed
properly or even corrected. Consequentially, after a rain several days later,
my wife fell & shattered her wrist while mopping up the water falling
through the “Tarped” area. (EMS, ER & Surgery report available).
In summary, B&G employee stated the initial
quote would be honored, even after this figure 'came out of the blue' refuting the claimed $1,500 balance due on the roof.
Secondly, the Tarping job was improperly done, not corrected causing
considerable personal injury to homeowners who refutes the $1,000 claimed amount
    due.
    The poor workmanship needs
to be corrected, there are no outstanding, balances due & the roof deficiencies should be corrected under the warranty stated & verified in B&G’s own response.
