Took my 2008 ****** in for a new transmission. All of my interactions with the staff were pleasant. I go to start the car, the power steering had disengaged. I was told the vehicle had been driven so I was distraught by this. 20 minutes later I'm on the road.
I bring the car in a week later, as instructed, for them to check gaskets, etc. That was Tuesday September 27, 2022. Thursday, the vehicle is spewing coolant. Get it back to them Friday morning. They denied accountability for any damages that would cause this leak.
Since then, I've had 2 competent mechanics advise me otherwise. The 2 areas of damage are directly within the workspace of the transmission. Within one square foot. Not the opposite side of the motor, not in the front by the radiator. The vehicle sat in my driveway, unusable for a month. Before that, there were no issues with leaks. No issues with overheating.
My frustration with this situation is that it would've been maybe 30 minutes of their time and very little money for parts to fix this mistake. But rather than do the right thing, they sent me off. I've since lost 2 days of work without transportation, several hundred dollars on new repairs plus a rental car.

Honestly this complain makes no sense to me from the "month not drivable" to the being frustrated because we didn't "just fix" something we didn't cause or have anything to do with. Vehicle was not leaking when it left here the week or so prior, it was not leaking coolant on that Tuesday we checked it. Customer brings back on that Friday and when we check it we find no damage to housing but looked like the housing gasket was leaking where it meets the motor. She then tells us she has it replaced a few months back. I told her to take it to them incase its under warranty she was fine with this and left. Now she wants money for a repair we did not cause and rental fees ? If we damaged something we would have no problem fixing it, it looked to be a gasket blown out, we can't cause a gasket to blow out no matter how close the location is to where we were working.
