      I purchased a washer and dryer set early February 2022. I recently had a problem because the washer was not spinning, completely. I reached out to the company concerning repairs and they recommended a repair service but their price for a service run was a little pricey, so I used one recommended by a friend. The end result the transmission on the washer had to be replaced, which was 295.00. I paid 650.00 for the set, so the repair would have cost all most as much as the washer. I opted to buy a new washer. I couldn't locate my receipt, therefore I didn't reach back out to Hampton"s because my initial experience wasn't that favorable. Consumers understand that they are taking a risk purchasing used appliances and the business has no idea of the appliances life expectancy. However, there is a problem when you have a major occurrence with the appliance within in a year of purchase. I feel that is money that has been wasted. I will take some responsibility because I couldn't locate the receipt but I'm sure of the time-line because I was waiting to return to work and that was early February, 2022. I understand that they can't make any guarantees but I do feel compensation is warranted if the appliances needs major repairs within a years time. I had no desire to reach back out to the business because as I stated I wasn't satisfied with my initial service. I've learned to do the research before a purchase instead of after. Thry had some reviews that weren't very favorable and now I understand why.

      We feel this complaint is unfair, unwarranted and should be removed. *** ***** admits she purchased this used appliance in February '22. Every appliance we sell receives a 30 day warranty. This is stated clearly on every receipt. I do not know when the initial washer problem happened because she does not state that, but I do know that if we made a referral to another service company that meant she was outside the warranty period, as our company does not do in-home service unless its within the 30 day warranty window. This is January 2023. Almost one year later. If *** ***** were to go and buy a brand new machine today, she would only receive a ONE YEAR warranty on said brand new machine (unless an extended warranty was purchased). We strongly feel that 30 day warranties are more than sufficient for pre-owned used appliances. We have been in business for 27 years and have an A+ rating with the BBB, as well as a 4.3 star rating on Google reviews. To her point of Hampton Appliance having some bad reviews online, most all of those bad reviews are from dissatisfied customers that were already OUT OF WARRANTY. Might I add, most of the complaints were with the "product", which we do not manufacture, and not with Hampton Appliance. Out of those few bad reviews, we have many others that are very good reviews. We strive to be a good business and a good neighbor to our community. We are very sorry that *** ***** had issues with the product she purchased from Hampton Appliance. However, please keep in mind we do not manufacture these appliances. We only recondition them and resell them with a 30 day warranty. Which she was well aware of when she made the initial purchase. I'll end with this question. When filing this complaint against Hampton Appliance, did *** ***** also file a complaint with the Manufacturer ***** ***** ********** *********** ** ******
