I purchased fabric to have a chair reupholstered. Reed Interiors has my chair and I have still not received my finished piece after many, many months. There is no response when trying to get a hold of him. This is absolutely unacceptable at this point and I would like my piece of furniture back. I purchased the fabric in March of 2025, he got my chair in the summer. I still have nothing. I don’t know what do to at this point. We have been understanding and patient but at this point after all this time, it’s just ridiculous. Please help.

unable to find anyone in the golconda Illinois area who could repair my family heirloom Victorian couch. and all the wooden slates and springs were falling out the bottom. The red crushed velvet material in need of replacement also. It is part of my music room at my home and looks great with my **** ******** ****** ***** which is plays exceptionally well. I am a classically trained music teacher I found Reeds Interiors we drove 2.5 hours March 20 2024 to Murray with the couch **** said he had to have 800$ to order the red velvet material So I paid him that day. See pic of receipt. **** said would be ready in about 2 mo. I called at two months. Not readySo I called after July 4 Not readySo I called about once a month. All kind of excuseswhy it wasn’t ready. I had not yet caught on to his scam I called again late December 2024 He said “ Mam, dont call me anymore! I (emphasis on the word I)will call you in one week and tell you to come pick it up). Ok great! Still not realizing the scam One week came and went So I started calling every week but it ALWAYS went to voicemail and I was always polite in the message I left. my messages got longer but always nice.I suggested maybe Reed had died or in hospital as to why he did not return my calls Still no response Then I started calling leaving message every day. no response. Now I was becoming suspiciousI checked his website for complaints.Only one glowing review butas I scrolled I saw a **** complaint from **** * of Murray. “Do not deal with this man he is a liar and thief! Mr Reed stole $1300 from him. I spoke to ***** by phone recovered 800$ in s claims court two days ago Reedset his phone so that my many calls to him don’t go through can’t contact him nor leave amessage.Yet Reed assured cop I sent to his buisness and city hall who called him, that he would IMMEDIATELY call me.No call to date reeds new buisness address is *** * ***. Cop says my couch is there but Reed said not finished yet. Been almost a year

*** ****** response as told to BBB Dispute Resolution Coordinator...He had been sick for a while.  Is still moving slowly, but police came by last week he believes at customer's request to see if he was "still alive." Although he is moving slowly, he anticipates having the couch completed within next couple of weeks.

**** Interiors is also a consignment store and picked up household furniture and accessories at the beginning of the pandemic at my home in Paducah. The store was closed for months due to the pandemic and several items took awhile to sell so it took longer than a year for the business agreement to be finalized. I have contacted the owner ****** **** several times by phone and email and have been told on each occasion that he would send me the itemized list of sold items and/or pay me what is due. He explained he didn't have the money so I suggested making payments, which he ag**** to and then never followed through. I have given ample time due to the extenuating circumstances of the pandemic and his business difficulties to complete our transaction. And it has become apparent there is no intention of him honoring our business agreement, so I am taking recourse.
Since I live out of state, I asked a friend in Murray to go into the store and inquire in person. ***** told him that he would contact me and would not deal with him. However, he has not contacted me in the six weeks since the in store request. I have heard from someone in the community that I am not the only person ***** has refused to pay.

********** ******** I am rejecting this response because: There are several items missing from the inventory list I have been asking him for, nor is it even added up correctly. Here is the email I received from him on 29 June, 2023"Here are the items that sold and the amounts Single gray parson chair                                         $29 Single wooden chair$                                     $29 Mid century modern cream chair                          $69 Wooden chair                                    $19 Slingle leather look chair                $29 Upholstered headboard               $75 Teal sofa                                        $395 4 lamps                                          $19 each Total                                                    $701.00/ your half is $301.50 Thank you. *****n ****"I will reply to his email requesting the missing items be included, two antique dressers with mirrors and a twin metal bed frame, and ask for a revised total amount. His figures do not sound accurate either if you look at the prices listed on the social media photos (Upholstered headboard advertised at $195 and he is offering to pay me $37.50/Sofa ad for $595 vs. $395/Mid century chair ad for $125 vs $69 here). I have tried to attach photos but they may have been too large and did not go through so I will email them.
    Thank you,
