    On Nov 28, 2023 I signed 2 agreements with ***** ******/Affordable Remodeling Handyman Services LLC, Nicholasville KY to begin work on my fireplace and siding. He requested a deposit of half of each job, which I paid. He said he would begin in 2 days, that siding would take 7-14 days of good weather upon arrival from supplier, and that the fireplace would be quicker. Along the way I requested wiring for a dryer and painting of an awkwardly high area in my stairway. The wiring and painting were done promptly, though the painting could use a second coat in some spots, and a hole was created in the ceiling during the wiring. He finally began the fireplace Jan 8 (a month late) due to a multitude of unverifiable excuses. On Feb 11, after sporadic bits of work, the fireplace was possibly 75% done, and waiting for an exchange to arrive. Meanwhile no work on siding. That day I asked again when he would begin the siding. He said it would begin in March. I pointed out that that was 3 months off from his original commitment. His reply was that he quit, promising a refund. Then there was no contact from him until March 5, after I sent him a certified letter detailing my request for a refund. Jerry mailed a letter to me asking when he could begin the siding! He claimed to have lost use of his phone and that he was unable to contact me. I replied via email that I had already gotten other bids and hired someone else because he quit, and that after his behavior I didn't trust him anymore. His emailed response to that was that he would write up a new bill "without discounts" and "settle it with lawyers".
    I paid him deposits totaling $13,600 Nov 28. He asked for payment for the dryer wiring job, and extra for wiring the fireplace, and extra for the fireplace gas line (which was included in the bid, AND was not installed), bringing my total paid up to $16,160. I feel I am owed back for 25% of fireplace, gas line and 100% of siding deposit. He said painting was free, but I tipped him.
