The contractor tried to make me give them a check for the entire amount that the insurance had issued before the jobs was completed that we had discussed and agreed on. Then they submitted an invoice and *** stating all the work was completed in which there were 3 jobs listed in their first invoice that were never even discussed to be completed. I emailed my insurance company as well as the contractor indicating they were trying to fraudulently bill. Then they readjusted and sent another invoice stating it was all a misunderstanding. They are still trying to bill for $5,804.27 when the total allowed from the insurance company is $2,679.52. They also asked that the depreciation cost of over $3,200 be released to them.

    Good Morning,
I have tried to contact you all week but you have apparently blocked our number from calling you. *****r made a billing error and informed you of this within hours. *****r also corrected the billing error within hours and informed you of each item we would not be doing. You have been paid by ***** **** for the services we rendered in full, you have paid us $0 for the services rendered. Your entire complaint and issue was handled in less than 3 hours and solved the same day. When *****r called you on a private line you proceeded to curse him out and talk very poorly to him for no reason. Please contact our office today to speak with me about this issue. I have attached a copy of your final invoice that was submitted with all details corrected.

Payment issued to ***** ***** from insurance, detailed record in attachments. Work completed by builder, but not in entirety. Garage door incorrect color, contacted ***** ***** multiple times, no resolution. Soffit only partially finished, pieces blowing off that were already replaced because it was attached to old soffit. Contacted ***** *****, no resolution. Fence project completed, no latch provided. Gate blew down in the wind, ***** ***** contacted, installed gate latch that did not meet together to function. Contacted ***** *****, no response. I would be happy to provide phone records and text correspondence if necessary. I do not want conflict, I want the job finished as promised, and I expect communication on intended dates of resolution. Initial contact with contractor was 10 months ago.

    Good morning,

We have been in communication for months about this project. The issue with soffit is insurance ONLY paid for a repair not all of your soffit. We can only do the work that we are paid to do, which leads to the garage door issue. We are a general contractor, one of the garage door companies that we used to complete your garage door is a local company. They billed us over $3000+ for your garage door, your insurance company paid less than $2000- for this item, we are still owed thousands of dollars by you. The chain link fence gate was installed and built as promised, you were not happy with the lock that was originally quoted/approved. We changed this locking cable to a latch; we had received no complaints about this gate until today. Our estimate to repair your home fully to our standard was $33,424.03 and the amount paid to us was around $20,779.80 according to check #204. We would have been happy to fully complete some of these projects however insurance would not approve, and you declined to pay for it prior to install. Please let us know how you would like to proceed because we would be happy to fix these issues but cannot do that with an outstanding balance.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

We were originally in communication for months, but we stopped receiving replies via text message and phone calls have not been answered. Our insurance paid to replace all damaged soffit, that is all that I expected to be repaired. This is shown in the quote I provided. As shown in the images provided, this was not completed. We did discuss expectations for the garage door, you pushed us to replace it with a more expensive model rather than what we already had, you said it was within the insurance budget. We never consented to going over the insurance budget provided, you were paid in full before the projects were started. As for the fence, have been communication about our disapproval of the fastener from the beginning. You installed with no latch, you asked what we wanted, we told you something normal, you provided a bike lock, we told the installer and you we were not happy, someone came on a much later date and installed a latch that does not meet in the middle and is non functional, we told them we did not approve, and have not been able to reach you to tell you. This fence has no means of staying shut currently, I am appalled you are happy with your work. As for the payment, your initial payment was $20,779.80, your supplement was $2,213.11 for the water damage we incurred. We were upfront and honest about our quote, told you other contractors weren’t happy with the amount, you accepted the job anyway. Our insurance says you have never contacted them to receive more money. Out of pocket we paid $875 for the fence gate.

Again, I am not wanting to argue semantics. I only want my garage door to match the house, my fence to close appropriately, and my soffit to be on my house. I know you have contractors insurance to fix this issues, please stop arguing with us and help us.

    Sincerely,
