    Please do not use Advanced Animal Care Vet in Richmond. They refused to refill Heartgard, even though my dog is not due for a check for 2 1/2 months. They are scamming people for more money because single doses cost more than a pack. I am so tired of the constant money grab. Advanced animal care is unprofessional, and really have no concern for the welfare of your pets! Yes there policy is designed to get more money from you. In all the years I have had pets this has not ever happened.

    My pet was not diagnosed correctly, was given useless meds, and was given back to me as needing no change in feeding or care. I was told he might benefit from a glucose curve to rule out diabetes but AAC doesn't have the testing supplies. I left feeling like I had wasted their time. In less than 24 hours, he was almost comatose from severe diabetes. He spent 24 hours at MedVet ICU and ultimately required euthanasia. He had a raging UTI from the ketoacidosis, low body temp, low BP, and was barely responsive upon arrival to MedVet.
    I believe it is misleading to brand this business as emergency or advanced. I will always wonder if I had gone to MedVet first, my cat might still be alive. There should be the option to leave no stars.

    I asked for all of my cat's teeth to be removed due to rot and decay. She is old so even if there were a couple that could hold on for a while, I didn't want to put her or my wallet through another surgery. They did not pull all of the teeth and she never got better. Puss and infection continued to stream out of her mouth, almost nonstop. I took her back and they refused to even give me a discount on a second surgery, I took her to Barnes Mill Animal Hospital for the second surgery and I am over the moon pleased with their care. Too bad I didn't know about them from the start. My fault for not doing extensive research but their fault for not doing what I asked, then wanting to charge me full price a second time. I tried talking with employees and the owners. I wanted to resolve this without court, but they gave me no choice, Do not take your animals here.

    Terrible place! Don't even take a spider there! They market to the desperate pet owner who has nowhere else to go and prey upon their emotions and attachment to their fur-baby. They lie and promise all kinds of things they never intend to deliver. Then, your pet dies anyway (like my own vet said would happen) and you get a nice big bill shoved in your face with all of these so-called 'therapies' and 'infusions' and 'laser treatments' that we never asked for. They did nothing for our beloved cat, except prolong her pain and suffering and they did nothing for us either, except cause us to be broke. These kinds of places are created for this. Just to make them a ton of money. And their fake 'niceness' doesn't fool me anymore. I've just learned to trust folks even less than I already did. Thanks Advanced.
