In January, 2024 I saw a post by ***** ****** on ******** *********** advertising a GEM car he had for sale. Since the ad said "new batteries". I contacted the seller and he confirmed that the batteries were new and said he could deliver it to NC for an additional 200.00. The GEM was delivered 1/23/24. Problems started showing up 1/24/24! The batteries won't fully charge nor hold a charge long enough to run the car for more than 15 minutes. I contacted Mr. Bourne several times requesting the receipt where he purchased the batteries. After many unanswered messages or untruths, he finally told me that they were purchased from a private individual so there is no receipt. That is another one of his lies! I contacted the company who manufactured the batteries and was advised that they were made in 2021. They are not new batteries as stated in the sale ad! I would have never purchased the GEM if I knew the batteries would have to be replaced. That's an additional expense of more than $2,500.00 that I don't have! So, because Mr. Bourne misrepresented and lied about the condition of the GEM car he sold me, I've got 3800.00+ tied up in a GEM car that I can't drive nor can I sell because it won't run. Someone would be ****** to buy a GEM car with dead batteries! DUH!
