Dropped my vehicle off for paint. Up charged me for things not done resulting in an awful paint line around the car. David lied and said he couldn’t do it but just didn’t want to do the 30 minutes of work. Ruined and painted over $2000 worth of parts on a rare vehicle. Do not recommend.

There was never an upcharge to the customer. Original quote was what was charged and we stuck to that even with additional things/time spent on the vehicle.

Customer was explained to, (in regards to the accusation of "not wanting to do 30 minutes of work"), that removing the specific piece would result in a much more in depth process, involving taking the convertible top loose. After looking into it, David determined it was going to be more detrimental to the vehicle & could result in the top leaking down the road, so it was not removed, not because the work wasn't wanting to be done.

Multiple times we have offered to give back some money and pay for things for the customer & it was rejected. We have also offered, multiple times, to do some more clean up on the vehicle & the customer rejected it. What the customer did not mention was that he has mentioned many times how "phenomenal" the paint job was, his words. He also didn't mention that David fixed 11 dents on the car for free before the paint was even done. He didn't charge the customer for it but did it for free.

As far as parts being ruined, again, we have offered solutions and the customer rejected them & stated he wanted cash not parts, not even a check. Parts were fine when installed but the customer proceeded to go home and tear down the car, removing parts on his own time & then saying there was a tab broken on a headlight, etc. The tabs were intact when we put the vehicle together for the customer to pick up.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

These are just a few photos, I have about 30 more. The business is stating I was not up charged but both the wife and husband have told me different things. I paid $5300 total before tax and any fee. $5000 for paint. $100 for windshield removal and install. (Not needed but still charged) $200 to remove the trim around the doors and soft top. The husband told me when I confronted about it that it was impossible. He said he could not do it. And then made up excuses as to what he charged me. Both are lies and it’s a simple task. The wife then offered my $300 refund but once I brought up everything else she has been radio silent since. I do believe they can offer good services however my vehicle was not taken care of the way I was told it would be. The car is orange and does not match. The second photo the bottom is factory BRAND new ***** paint. The top is what I received from them. While the paint work itself is not the biggest issue it’s the lack of the details taken care of resulting in my vehicle looking horrendous. They try to guilt people because they are a small business. If I was lying they would not have hid their ******** reviews. Anyone who looks at the vehicle calls these points out. Point is I took a expensive vehicle to them. I was promised a price and timeframe. Neither was met and I have thousands in parts that are damaged and things painted a reddish orange that shouldn’t be. They have offered absolutely 0 help outside of me bringing it to them yo remove the overspray. What about all of the other issues? Do not take your vehicle here.

Again, we have offered many options to help this customer out. We are willing to give the customer $300 & supply materials or do the clean up ourselves , plus new bolts, & again, new OEM marker lights or do the clean up ourselves.

In regards the headlight issue, customer chose to tear down the vehicle after we had put it together & all tabs were in tact when we assembled. So we do not believe we are in any way, responsible for replacing the headlight we are being accused of.

As far as the customer now bringing up the paint color, we have proof where the customer stated that the paint job was great/that the paint was not the issue. Now all of a sudden the customer is throwing this into the complaint. Customer brought a new splitter down to the shop & David helped put on FREE of charge. It was painted from the company he bought it from. Customer stated that the piece didn't match the car but that the car matched the rest of the components of the vehicle, EX: door jams, washer nozzles (which we did not paint, nor were we paid to paint.)

Not that I need to defend our choice to shut down reviews and tags on social media, but there are other businesses out there that have gone this route as well. We gave up having all of our great reviews posted & removed them completely because we were feeling harassed. Mutiple people (& some who had never had service from us) went on and left a bad review because of this issue. So, after multiple times & multiple platforms of this, we decided to lose the reviews, good & bad, altogether.

I have not heard from this business in weeks. The wife will respond on ******** saying they are busy but it has been 2 weeks with zero contact or resolutions offered. All of the things she is stating have been offered I haven’t received any of them. The paint job color does not match in any way. The part I brought to the ship was painted by ***** in the FACTORY color by *****. It is an OEM new in box part from the manufacture of the car. There is no reason it should be a different color as it is brand new from the manufacturer of the car. Unless their color is wrong? But the bumper caps I provided and the windshield washer nozzles I provided are the same. Car is orange. While the car looks good from 10 feet away yes. It is not the same color. I never took the headlights out of the car. I would not have had to disassemble pieces if it was done properly. They do a shady job and hope you don’t find it. The photos I attached are a handful I have over two dozen. The first one clearly depicts the color is off. Overspray on thousands of dollars worth of parts. Absolutely zero communication from them unless it’s trying to save there reviews. The longer this process takes the more and more things I am finding done poorly.
    Regards,
