    EMS ride on 9/22/22. Active BCBS coverage with group “a”. EMS filed on 4/25/23 resulting in a denial because new group “b” was active and group “a” no longer exists. BCBS will not pay the claim, and EMS will not help. My insurance was active and we still are customers with BCBS. I am in the process of filing a grievance but I need someone to help me! There is no reason I should be responsible when we had active coverage and the insurance paid another claim filed the same date of service. The issue is that EMS waited 7 months to file, which they told me was a courtesy to their customers to make insurance cover more. Definitely not in my case! Both companies are treating their customers awful. And this ambulance ride was called by my sons pediatrician to bring him to children’s hospital while he was at a doctors appointment and had an allergic reaction. I just want this bill to stop following me when I have/had insurance coverage. So bcbs never filed my claim bc the insurance group is now closed. But they were able to tell that my policy deductible had not been met at that time of service and I did owe the amount EMS billed me. The problem is that it came through so much later that I was not expecting it. And my insurance has changed and it was a huge ordeal. I believe it is wrong for EMS to bill me almost a whole year later. But they did offer me a 20% discount on my bill which was nice. I am paying what I owe.
